Magic Red Review
Sports betting in the UK shows no signs of diminishing, and Magic Red is one of the newest brands to enter the fray.
Doubling up as a casino operator, Magic Red's sports betting influence is unheralded, but don't worry, there is plenty going on.
Controlled by Malta-based iGaming company, AG Communications Ltd, Magic Red launched in 2023. It shares some similarities with other AG-owned sportsbooks, most notably Bzeebet and Luckster. Well, certainly in terms of core features such as price boosts.

Anyway, Magic Red is ambitious, and it is bursting with in-play betting markets across different sports. Ultimately, this has become increasingly cherished by players who crave freedom from their betting sites and want to wager as the action unfolds.
Regulated by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), Magic Red utilises the latest 128-bit SSL technology to ensure all online transactions initiated by UK customers are done safely. For extra comfort, players logging on should look for the padlock symbol in the bottom right-hand corner denoting encrypted transactions.
According to research, the magicred casino segment has been more successful for awards landed, but then again, it has been around for 10 years longer than the sportsbook. It is worth pointing out that magicred hasn't struck any key sports betting partnerships, but this should come in due course.
The Magic Red desktop website is largely intuitive, with virtually everything easily accessible at the click of a button, making it a solid choice for punters.
But what makes magicred stand out? My review unpacks key areas, including the quality of odds posted, attitudes to responsible gambling, and customer service. Don't swerve this one!
User Experience - My Personal View
My first impression of the desktop site was lukewarm. Tons of markets jumped out at me; however, it was a bit crammed. The text was small, but to make it more inviting, text should be enlarged, especially if you want to spend a significant proportion of time scrolling through lines to wager on.
That said, magicred has gone for a distinctive red and black colour palette to make it a bit more luxurious. Other UK sportsbooks have been more reserved on the design front, and I'm thinking here of sites such as Fruity King Sports and Monster Sports, but that is their signature look.
Speed is essential for compiling a review of sportsbooks, and magicred passes the test. Occasionally there was the odd icon freeze, but generally the site was responsive and smooth. I was impresssed with the swift two-step sign-up process, meaning I could engage with the markets in a matter of minutes.
I tend to gravitate towards feature-rich sports betting brands. The price boosts are one of the cornerstones associated with magicred, but unlike sites such as Betfred, the price boosts weren't as deep.
Odds there were often raised from 11/2 to 13/2. Magic Red was more subtle, however, the boosted odds applied to combo bets and singles for football matches which was pleasing.
'My Favourites' are trumpeted, so you can create a list of preferred teams or lines and return to them at a later date before selecting a pick. Like Luckster and Bzeebet, Magic Red has embedded 1-click betting, which is their take on quick bets, and players can accept higher or lower odds.
However, Magic Red is missing a few other features that would have taken it up a notch or two. For example, not having Early Payouts for football betting is a blow. 2Up or 1Up EPs have been served up for years at other sportsbooks, such as bet365 and BoyleSports and they keep punters keen.
Although there are bet builders, which I've discussed later on, having acca boosts would have been a nice touch. Whatever sports you wish to bet on, acca boosts are notoriously tough given you have to win every leg to get a return on your money, but these are sought after at sportsbooks. BetMGM, for example, offers a golden acca boost providing a whopping 200% return on 20-folds, so that is something for Magic Red to bear in mind.
I believe Magic Red were too worried about having blank spaces, so decided to bunch things up. If they carry out a revamp soon, the layout should be reworked.
Mobile Betting Experience
The magicred mobile site was more aesthetically inviting compared to the desktop version. Things were sleeker and more streamlined, and I actually preferred using the mobile site for pinpointing particular markets.
Unfortunately, I couldn't provide any thoughts on the mobile betting app experience as Magic Red doesn't have a mobile app to speak of. This was disappointing given most sites nowadays have a native app to satisfy digitally savvy users who want to place bets seamlessly on the move.
That aside, the mobile version contains many of the same features as the desktop site. Cash Out is available, and you can cash out bets in their entirety across all devices. All markets available for Cash Out display a dollar icon, so you can see what lines are eligible.
However, it is the breadth of live betting markets plugged that should inspire. On any given day, there were a hefty number of lines floating about, and football games had a clear breakdown of stats.
Yellow or red cards awarded along with corners flashed up, but it's not as snazzy as LiveScore Bet or Spreadex which often supply commentary or minute-by-minute info to keep punters in the loop.
The live betting area is an undeniable strength, but I think the lack of live streaming options is a shame. There is live streaming available for horse racing and eSports through Twitch, but that's about it.
Sometimes, there are transmission delays, but if there were more magicred sports with a live stream, this would carry more favour with bettors.
Magic Red Betting Markets & Odds
The range of sports betting options is fundamental for any review. Magic Red hits the mark with over 30 sports to wager on. Aside from mainstream sports such as football, there are plenty of intriguing niche options, including Pesapello or Alpine Skiing, surpassing that of other sportsbooks.
Often, Magic Red is quick to offer early prices across a wide range of sports, and that was rather pleasing especially if you want to pounce on a pick rather than deliberate for too long. Whether it was pre-match or antepost markets, new customers will notice the odds are fairly competitive, even if they weren't always the most spectacular.
Horse racing, in particular, was well covered at Magic Red. There were a gamut of UK horse racing meets available, and I could place each-ways, forecast, or tricast-style wagers, but there were no targeted deals, such as Best Odds Guaranteed or extra places like at Betfred or Spreadex. While not criminal, this was a missed opportunity.
Combo bets, singles, and multiples are part of the Magic Red sports package, and as mentioned, the in-play area is a hub of activity. What stood out was the depth of outrights and pre-season specials posted.
For NFL betting coverage, Magic Red fared well alongside the likes of Paddy Power, but there were considerably more player specials at Magic Red than Paddy Power's offering, so a big tick in the box there.
A quick word on the magicred sports bet builders. With football, there were a mix of options, such as corners, BTTS, and player goals, but I didn't find this as appetising as the bet365 pre-builder packs which are more thorough. I think the Magic Red bet builders could be improved for football to give it a bit more credence.
Magic Red Sign Up Offer and Promotions
If you were hoping for a smorgasbord of betting promotions, then you will be disappointed. Currently, Magic Red only has one deal advertised (welcome bonus), so it is outshone by most other AG-owned sites.
I also didn't see a loyalty program either. At certain sites, such as Spreadex, having a Refer and Earn scheme has worked wonders, so Magic Red take note.
Magic Red Welcome Bonus Review โ Bet ยฃ10 Get ยฃ10 in Free Bets + 10 bonus spins
New customers can latch onto ยฃ10 in free bets when making a ยฃ10 qualifying bet. This free bets deal is quite small, considering most players can tap into at least ยฃ30 in free bets, whereas at the upper end of the scale, Spreadex players can receive up to ยฃ60 in free bets.
One benefit is the sports offer carries 10 free spins for casino games. The offer is valid for 14 days, but certain payment methods are excluded, such as PayPal and Skrill, so be aware before signing up.
What is the Magic Red Betting Promo Code?
New customers can collect this deal without inputting a promo code, and this is the same for the casino arm of the site.

Customer Service at Magic Red
Magic Red came up short in my review for customer service. Most sportsbooks have a fully functioning live chat support platform, but Magic Red only has an email option.
I had to fill in a message form, and while the inbox is supposed to be monitored frequently, response times were slower than expected. A live chat support is something that should be included moving forward.
I would suggest heading over to the FAQs area first as there are lots of topics housed, such as withdrawals using bank transfers and other account queries. It was extensive, and arguably more reliable than email.
Responsible Gambling at Magic Red
Sportsbooks are fully committed nowadays to responsible gambling. Magic Red abides by its C.A.R.E. (Customers Are Everything) motto, and the following tools have been rolled out on the website:
- Deposit Limit - Players can choose how much to spend on a daily or weekly basis before placing an extra bet.
- Time Out - Essentially a cooling-off period, players can put a pause on gambling for up to six weeks to re-evaluate their betting patterns.
- Reality Checks - Whether playing casino games or sports, players will receive a notification on the length of their betting sessions, and they can continue to play or stop.
Magic Red offers a gambling questionnaire, so players can assess whether they have a betting problem, but there are organisations out there on hand to offer advice, such as Gambling Therapy Online.
As a UKGC-licensed site, Magic Red upholds the values expected, such as having robust security measures. Like the casino arm, Magic Red attests to fair play, and there is an extensive Terms and Conditions section, so players know what to expected before signing up.
My Verdict
In summary, Magic Red is only in the nascent stages of its development, but for horse racing and football coverage, this site holds up its end of the bargain.
Of course, the meagre free bets deal, lack of mobile app, and limited live streaming options are shortcomings, but these are things to work towards.
Overall, this site will connect with players who relish tackling the in play markets.
