With the 2025 Flat season underway, the 2000 Guineas picture is becoming clearer, with several contenders making significant impressions in recent trials.

We look closer at the leading contenders in the 2000 Guineas betting, focusing on the horses topping the market with the best UK betting sites.

And don't forget, we expect to see plenty of free bets and betting offers in the build-up to the big race.

2000 Guineas Contenders

Here are the key horses shaping the betting market for this year's 2000 Guineas.

Field Of Gold - Craven Stakes

John and Thady Gosden's Field Of Gold surged to the head of the 2000 Guineas betting after a commanding three-and-a-half-length victory in the Craven Stakes at Newmarket.

However, unbelievably, John Gosden has yet to train the winner of the 2000 Guineas, while you have to go back 21 years for the Craven winner to go on to win the Classic.

Jonquil - Greenham Stakes

Andrew Balding's Jonquil impressed with a decisive win in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury, enhancing his credentials for the Guineas.

This victory marked owners, Juddmonte's second major trial success of the week, preceding Field Of Gold's Craven triumph.

Shadow Of Light – Dewhurst Stakes

Trainer Charlie Appleby has saddled the winner of two of the last three 2000 Guineas, and Shadow Of Light, the Dewhurst Stakes winner, is on track for the Guineas after a satisfactory racecourse gallop.

Appleby expressed confidence in the colt's ability to handle the mile at Newmarket after watching the Godolphin-owned colt.

Irish Hopes

Aidan O'Brien's Twain remains a strong 2000 Guineas contender, having secured victories in both the Criterium International at Saint-Cloud and a Leopardstown maiden.

He'll head straight to Newmarket, as will Expanded, who chased home Shadow Of Light in last year's Dewhurst.

Joseph O'Brien's Scorthy Champ is also expected to head directly to the 2000 Guineas, having last been seen when beating subsequent Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Henri Matisse in the Group 1 National Stakes.

With the Guineas set for May 3rd at Newmarket, these contenders have positioned themselves as leading hopefuls in what promises to be a competitive renewal of the season's first Classic.
