Championship Tips - August 16-18
We’ve looked through the markets with many football betting sites, and put together our best Championship tips for the games this weekend.
Coventry v Oxford - Friday 8:00pm
Coventry lost at Stoke last weekend, but are a much better side at home, and they can take advantage of that by bagging their first win of the season here. Oxford made a winning start in the Championship, but this is much tougher, on the road, and while I think they can score, I do think they’ll lose here.
- Our Prediction: Coventry win & BTTS
Derby v Middlesbrough - Saturday 12:30pm
Two excellent performances from two games for Middlesbrough, a good start to life this season. Derby were humbled by Blackburn, and still look a couple of players short for this league. I’ll go with the away win here, and Boro to win again.
- Our Prediction: Middlesbrough to win
Burnley v Cardiff - Saturday 3:00pm
Burnley started very well to win at Luton on Monday night, and look well equipped for this division. Cardiff on the other hand, beaten at home by Sunderland and they failed to score, that was tough, this is even tougher, and a Burnley win looks likely here.
- Our Prediction: Burnley win to nil
Plymouth v Hull - Saturday 3:00pm
Thumped in week one, Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth have a bit to prove, and they’ve just lost their number one goalie. A draw for Hull last weekend, they go away here, but I still think they look solid value against Plymouth.
- Our Prediction: Hull to win
Sheffield United v QPR - Saturday 3:00pm
Sheffield United made a great start in week one, and they’ve improved since, finally landing the number one goalie they desire. With a home crowd behind them, they are likely to be far too strong for QPR in this one.
- Our Prediction: Sheffield United to win & over 2.5 goals
Swansea v Preston - Saturday 3:00pm
Swansea are likely to take a nice step forward this season, when Luke Williams makes his mark, and they got off to a winning start last weekend. Preston on the other hand, lost at home, and sacked Ryan Lowe, a wild week. I’ll take Swansea to win a low scoring game here.
- Our Prediction: Swansea win & under 2.5 goals
