Strong Start Gives Huddersfield Promotion Hopes
Dropping down a division, keeping together large parts of last seasons squad, plus adding key new players and a good managerial appointment, Huddersfield have always been amongst the favourites with football betting sites for promotion back to the second tier this season.
But all of that was based on guesswork, what we’ve seen over the first couple of weeks in August has been things working out on the field.
It’s not been perfect, and there’s plenty to work on, but so far, it’s two wins from two in the league, and an EFL Cup success too, so there’s a lot to like.
Starting well, picking up wins when players are not fully up to speed, and while the manager is still trying to implement his style, is a positive picture so far.
And it feels like this is only the start.
Away at Peterborough, there were times when Huddersfield were cut open, but Posh failed to take their chances. At home against Stevenage, it was a little closer than it needed to be, even though you never felt like Huddersfield would lose the game at all really.
But positives are there, and the feeling is that this club has more to offer, even without further player changes.
If this squad can be kept together, and Michael Duff can work his magic a little more, then an instant return to the Championship could be on the cards.
