Notts County v Wimbledon Match Preview
On paper, Notts County’s promotion push has suffered a blip with just one win in five for Stuart Maynard’s side.
Whereas last season, the Magpies were getting carved open at will during their slumps in form, this season, it’s been more of a smash-and-grab job for their opponents.
Gillingham and Port Vale should be credit for the job they did to come away from Meadow Lane with 1-0 wins, but Notts were the better side in both encounters.
Elsewhere, David McGoldrick earnt Notts a valuable point at prospective promotion candidates Chesterfield, they won 2-0 at Carlisle – and a draw at Morecambe isn’t as bad a result as it looks.
It’s been a tricky run of games for the East Midlanders, who aren’t far off putting together another four-game winning streak.
That could start against Wimbledon, who have struggled to replicate their impeccable Plough Lane form on the road, winning just one of their four road trips, and scoring just the once.
