Salford v Wimbledon Match Preview
Wimbledon have been affected by flooding, causing a series of games at Plough Lane to be postponed and a backlog of fixtures awaiting Johnnie Jackson’s side.
The Dons, though, have thrived in adversity and a spirited performance even in EFL Cup defeat at Newcastle in midweek highlighted a united camp.
In fact, the Londoners are still thriving in the top half of the table with 13 points despite having three games in hand on most teams, so they have a real opportunity to make their presence felt at the top end this October.
Omar Bugiel certainly makes his presence felt, and the selfless target man will be crucial to Wimbledon’s designs on three points at Salford, who have begun with just two wins and five goals in eight.
The two games the Ammies won, against MK Dons and Cheltenham, it was without necessarily playing that well as a collective – in fact, against the latter, they were outplayed for an hour against one of the weaker sides in the league.
Wimbledon are the clear better team and that should tell at the Peninsula Stadium.
