Second Test: England v Sri Lanka Cricket Betting Tips and Betting Odds
England are bidding to seal a second successive home series win. After brushing aside West Indies 3-0, they are up against a much more resolute Sri Lanka. Read our Test Match betting tips preview below

While I believe England will have too much for Sri Lanka and - weather permitting - go on and win the series 3-0, I was impressed by some of the visitors’ cricket in the opening Test at Emirates Old Trafford as they forced Ollie Pope’s side to chase a tricky target of 205 during the latter stages of Saturday’s fourth day.
Seamer Asitha Fernando looked good with the new ball in claiming six wickets, left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya looks a threat - he took five wickets in the match, and Kamindu Mendis was superb in the second innings for 113.
It was just a shame he didn’t get them in the first innings, when he would’ve brought us in a 15/2 shot on him to be Sri Lanka’s top batter!
Here’s a look at the best cricket betting tips ahead of the second Test from our collection of the best betting sites and the best betting offers available on the market.

England v Sri Lanka Betting Tips Preview
William Hill have a #YourOdds combination on England to win and Gus Atkinson to be their top first-innings bowler, at 10/3. That has appeal given Surrey’s Atkinson has taken 26 wickets in his first four Tests, including 12/106 on debut against the West Indies at Lord’s in mid-July.
He took two in each innings against Sri Lanka at Emirates Old Trafford last week.
Hopefully the happy memories at Lord’s can bring more success.
All hail the Pope
I have a feeling for Ollie Pope success at Lord’s.
England’s stand-in captain has got to 50 on three occasions in five summer Tests, including a century against the West Indies at Trent Bridge, last month.
He scored six and six at Emirates Old Trafford last week, but I think he’ll be back in the runs at the Home of Cricket. On that basis, I think there’s value in bet365′s 11/10 on Pope to score a half-century in the match.
The same price - 11/10 - is available via betway’s pre-built bets section on Sri Lanka left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya to take five or more wickets in the match.
That was a feat he achieved in the first Test in bowling 56.2 overs, and something he has achieved in eight of his 13 career appearances so far.
Sticking with betway’s pre-built bets section, they are offering 9/4 on any batter to score a century on day one of the Test. The forecast looks good for St John’s Wood on Thursday - a win the toss and bat day, you would think.
And, finally, this is a repeat of the first Test bet I put up, for which I still think significant value remains. That’s Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis to top-score for his side in the first innings, at 13/2 with BetMGM.
Mendis has scored three hundreds in four Tests, including a second-innings 113 in the first Test. He has a Bradman-like average of 92.16, made all the more amazing because he’s batting down at seven.
Surely, he will have to be elevated at some point. But if not, he’s shown he has every chance of achieving this bet from down the order.
That would be a great way to bring success to our Test Match betting tips preview.
