England v Australia T20 Betting Tips & Preview - Game Three
This really is the weekend to have your feet up on the sofa and your chosen betting account handy.
Two T20 internationals between two great rivals on Friday and Sunday, and sandwiched in between is Finals Day. Living the dream, hey!
England were excellent in winning at Cardiff last night to level things up at 1-1.
Once again, they were able to stymie a fast Australia start - 52-0 in the fifth over to 193-6. They did similar in game one at Southampton, but this time they were able to capitalise with the bat thanks to Liam Livingstone’s superb 87 off 47 balls.
Despite that performance, I still view the Aussies as the better side and will be sticking with my original series prediction of them to win it 2-1 correct score.
Instead of taking a straight win for Australia, which is available at 4/6, I have put together a bet-builder double with bet365. At a more enticing 5/4, you can get Australia to win and England captain and opener Phil Salt to score 10 plus runs.
In his last eight innings for club and country dating back to last month’s Hundred, including two in this series - 20 and 29 - Salt has only failed to reach double figures once. With scores of 40, 58 and 61 in that run, he has been impressively consistent.
England to be Scorched?
I fancy some success for two Perth Scorchers batters in the Australian line-up.
Captain Mitch Marsh sat out the second game at Cardiff after feeling ‘slightly unwell’. You’d have to expect him to return if that’s just the ailment.
In three of his last four T20I innings, dating back to the T20 World Cup in mid-summer, he has posted scores of 37, 39 and 31. Betfred have him at Evens to score over 22.5 runs in the match at Emirates Old Trafford. If he does return, he will likely bat at three.
Just before I take a look at Marsh’s Big Bash team-mate Josh Inglis, I want to divert to a couple of big-hitting Englishmen. William Hill are offering 23/10, via their #YourOdds selections, on Phil Salt to hit at least one six and Liam Livingstone to hit two or more sixes. Salt has hit three in two matches and Livingstone has cleared the boundary six times.
Back to Josh Inglis, the Yorkshire-born Aussie who is enjoying an excellent tour. The wicketkeeper-batter scored a century against Scotland in Edinburgh, and in this series has hit 37 and 42 from number four.
Bet365 have him at 7/2 to score a fifty in this decider. He may get a decent amount of time to bat, as I have a feeling that opener Travis Head is due a failure.
And to finish with, William Hill - again via their #YourOdds selections - have Aussie bowlers Sean Abbott and Adam Zampa to take two or more wickets apiece available at 6/1.
Seamer Abbott has taken five wickets in two appearances so far, while leg-spinner Zampa claimed two wickets in the opening match at Southampton on Wednesday before going wicketless at Cardiff.
