Vitality T20 Blast Cricket Betting Tips: Weekly Preview, Friday, July 5
Blast returns after a fortnight’s break - T20 Blast cricket tips preview

- Vitality Blast, North & South Groups
- Friday, July 5, 2024, 2.30pm-7.00pm
We have eight fixtures scheduled across the two groups, including the eye-catching London derby between Surrey and Middlesex down at the Kia Oval.
Surrey are top of the South Group, while Birmingham Bears are top of the North.
The Bears are also in action, travelling to face Yorkshire at Headingley.
We’ll pick out four bets across the day, including an acca to finish. Here is our pick of cricket betting tips from our collection of online bookmakers and sports betting offers.
T20 Vitality Blast Betting Tips
Fantastic Friday - T20 Blast Cricket Tips
Now, in my tournament preview, I suggested Hampshire as the winner of the South Group. That, I’m afraid, isn’t going to happen. They are seven points behind leaders Surrey with six games remaining.
Instead, I would be backing a different horse - and that’s the thoroughbred that is Surrey. They have lost the likes of Jamie Smith and overseas Australians Sean Abbott and Spencer Johnson since the last round of Blast matches, but they should get captain Chris Jordan, Sam Curran and Reece Topley to compensate.
They’re a point clear of Sussex and are 11/10 with bet365 to prevail in the South. I’d be taking that.
The only single win bet I will give you is on North Group leaders Birmingham Bears to beat Yorkshire at Headingley tomorrow evening. That’s available at 4/5 with LiveScoreBet amongst others.
Birmingham have won their last four in the Blast, a run started by beating the Vikings at Edgbaston last month. They have won at Headingley in each of the last two years, and Yorkshire have been inconsistent this campaign - won four, lost four.
Leicestershire’s fast bowler Scott Currie has taken eight wickets in his last three Blast games, including a three-for and four-for.
Bet365 have him at 13/8 to take over 1.5 wickets in their match against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge. I’d be taking that price for sure in this T20 Blast cricket tips preview.
Continuing on the theme of bowling success, I think Durham’s leg-spinner Nathan Sowter is worth serious consideration when it comes to being his team’s top wicket-taker in their home clash with Worcestershire.
He struck twice in his last match, against Yorkshire, and the Riverside pitch can often be slow and low and suitable for spinners. He’s 7/2 with bet365 to be the hosts’ top bowler against the Rapids.
Nightly acca to finish
And finally, let’s have a crack at a Friday accumulator.
I’ve picked out five winners, which brings home 9/1 with Virgin Bet.
That’s including a Durham win at home to Worcestershire, hosts Nottinghamshire to beat Leicestershire, Surrey to beat Middlesex in the London derby at the Oval, Birmingham to win at Yorkshire and for Sussex to beat Glamorgan at Hove.
