Weekend Boxing 7/1 Double featuring Bam Rodriguez, Jaron Ennis & Pedro Guevara
Two of boxing’s biggest new superstars are in action on Saturday night

Big time boxing returns to the fighting city of Philadelphia this weekend with Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez and Jaron Ennis carrying the torch as the headline acts.
Both Rodriguez and Ennis have genuine ambitions of being the number one name in the sport within the next five years, and with buckets of talent and time of their sides, it’s hard to argue against their plight.
But the most important fight for any boxer is always the next one, and both guys will be determined not to slip on a banana skin inside the Wells Fargo Centre this Saturday night.
This week’s double weighs in at a juicy 7/1 and you can check out both legs below, plus the best boxing betting offers currently available from the top betting sites.

Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez to beat Pedro Guevara in Rounds 5-8
Bam Rodriguez is one of the most exciting talents in world boxing at the moment.
The 24-year-old southpaw is already a world champion at flyweight and super-flyweight, and is looking to defend his WBC title at 115-pounds this Saturday night against the rough and tough Pedro Guevara.
Guevara shocked Andrew Moloney in May to win the interim title at super-flyweight, and now in the 48th fight of his career gets the chance to land a world title in a second weight class after winning the light-flyweight title in 2015.
But it’s not expected to go the way of the experienced Mexican.
Guevara may be arriving in Philly with confidence, but the switch-hitting, footwork and speed of Bam Rodriguez is going to be hard to match for the challenger.
Guevara has never been stopped, but you could argue that he’s not fought someone in the peak form that Rodriguez is for some time, and at 35 years old something has to give.
Jaron Ennis to beat Karen Chukhadzhian in Rounds 5-8
It’s the rematch nobody asked for.
Jaron Ennis beat Karen Chukhadzhian convincingly 22 months ago via unanimous decision to claim the interim IBF welterweight title, but since the Ukrainian has fought his way into a mandatory title position, and therefore has another stab at the cherry of taking Ennis’ “0”.
It’s not likely to go any different this time around.
Ennis is 27 and fast-approaching the prime years of his career accompanied by a 32-0 record, but it’s time for the Philly fighter to make a real statement.
He didn’t lose a round last January in the first meeting (120-108 x3 on the scorecards) so if he is able to turn the screw this time around, he will more than likely add to his 29 career knockouts.
Rounds 5-8 look like a good block for “Boots” to get him out of there.
