Vikings vs Chargers Bet Builder Tips
Check out our 8/1 Bet Builder to hopefully get week eight of to a flying start.
LA Chargers -3.0 (Spread market)
The Chargers have had a decent start to the season and currently have a 4-3 record. They have beaten all their division rivals and the Dolphins but fallen to the Giants, Commanders and Colts.
Injuries have had a major impact on them, and they will still be without their two main running backs in Omarion Hampton and Najee Harris. Also, losing Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt from the offensive line has caused problems.
Despite these problems they have been able to be competitive in games. However, losing to the Colts last Sunday caused them to fall to 4-3. They will be looking to bounce back here.
They are going up against a Minnesota Vikings team that haven’t looked great for a few weeks now. JJ McCarthy is going to be out injured for another six week and so its down to backup quarterback Carson Wentz to keep things going.
Wentz has his limitations and that is starting to become obvious the more he plays. In the four games he has played he has thrown five touchdowns and four interceptions. That’s not great.
Both teams have got decent defences and good attacking weapons but it’s the quarterback play where they differ a lot. Justin Herbert should get the job done and so take the -3 on the Chargers to get back to winning ways.
Jordan Mason anytime touchdown scorer
With the lack of passing talent from Carson Wentz it feels that the Vikings will rely on the run game. Jordan Mason has taken over as the main running back after Aaron Jones went down injured.
Mason has score four touchdowns in four games and has the potential to get on the scoreboard again in this game. He is going up against a Chargers defence that is currently ranked 19th in the league against the run. Take Mason at a short price but one worth having in the bet builder.
Ladd McConkey anytime touchdown scorer
It’s been a quieter season for McConkey this year, but he is starting to get more involved now. Over the last three games he has had two touchdowns but more importantly 31 targets.
Getting them targets from Justin Herbert is key for him to be more successful for the rest of the season. There is plenty of mouths to feed in the Chargers offence with Keenen Allen and Quentin Johnston.
Despite that McConkey has had the most over the last three weeks and he should get more in this game. Take him at a decent price to get in the endzone and finish of the bet.
