2024 English Open Snooker Tips, Preview & Odds
Things are heating up in the English Open as the seeds enter the mix on Monday

We’re deep into the fourth ranking event of the season in Brentwood, Essex, as eyes begin to focus on scooping the prestigious English Open title.
We’ve already had a week’s worth of play and a week’s worth of drama throughout the first few rounds, including a 147 from Fan Zhengyi and some shocks that have seen Elliot Slessor, Robbie Williams and Jordan Brown booted out of contention.
But the seeds are thrown into the mix at the last 64 stage, so expect things to really heat up from Monday afternoon.

Judd Trump to win the tournament
Judd Trump has that winning feeling on the WST and we’re not sure it’s going to come to an end in Brentwood.
He’s won this title two out of the last four years, and considering he is fresh off the back of a huge win in Saudi Arabia from a fortnight ago, it’s going to take a special effort to stop the “Ace in the Pack”.
He’s the top seed here and will have to navigate a route through Liu Hongyu and quite possibly Ali Carter and Mark Williams in his quarter, with Ronnie O’Sullivan a possible semi-final opponent.
Trump’s form looks too strong to back against at the English Open.
Neil Robertson to reach the final
Neil Robertson has reached at least the semi-final in three of his last four years at the English Open, winning the event once and finishing runner-up on the other occasion.
Sure, the Australian’s form hasn’t been what we expect of the former world champion across the last couple of seasons, but there are certainly signs of green shoots as the “Thunder from Down Under” looks to improve his falling world ranking.
A 6-3 loss to Judd Trump saw Robertson exit the Saudi Arabian Masters as the quarter-finals stage, but in a quarter involving up-and-down forms of Kyren Wilson, Shawn Murphy and Jack Lisowski, we fancy the Australian to advance.
Mark Allen to win the 3rd Quarter
The third quarter in Brentwood arguably looks the least threatening, meaning 12/5 for a player of Allen’s ability and experience to advance proves real value.
John Higgins will be his biggest threat, but after a poor start to the season the great Scot is clinging on to his top 16 spot in the rankings.
Allen is yet to win this title, and is a good pick to build on his two semi-final appearances.
