2024 European Championship Darts – Day 3 Tips
Tips from Day 3 of the European Championship Darts in Dortmund, Germany

As we enter the weekend of European Championship action in Dortmund there are plenty of names missing from the bracket.
Early exits for the likes of Luke Littler, Gerwyn Price, Dave Chisnall, Rob Cross and Peter Wright have left another PDC draw wide open – well, that’s if you ignore the ever-present world number one Luke Humphries.
The last 16 get up and running on Saturday afternoon, so let’s take a look at Day 3 tips from the European Championship in Dortmund, plus the top darts betting offers from the best betting sites.

Ritchie Edhouse +2.5 legs handicap vs Michael Smith
Ritchie Edhouse stole the show in the last 32 thanks to an unbeaten average of 109 in beating Gian van Veen 6-1 – and what thanks does he get? A second round tie against former world champion Michael Smith…
The 41-year-old wasn’t expected to make such a splash in Dortmund, but this form can’t be ignored.
If “Madhouse” is able to replicate any thing close to his form from Thursday then he should be able to push Smith close in this race to 10 legs, especially if “Bully Boy” continues his recent form of exiting tournaments before the quarter-finals.
We’re giving Edhouse a head start of +2.5 legs here.
Michael van Gerwen vs Gary Anderson – Over 17.5 legs
Gary Anderson doubled down on his recent spike in form in the opening round, averaging 101 en route to an impressive 6-3 win over Stephen Bunting.
He knows Michael van Gerwen’s game inside out, and the history these two players share mean that Saturday’s clash looks likely to go the distance.
MVG swept aside Gabriel Clemens in his opener but far too frequently follows a hot performance with a cold one these days, so a rampant brushing aside of the “Flying Scotsman” is hard to imagine.
10-8 or 10-9 to either looks good.
Luke Humphries to beatJonny Clayton 10-6 or 10-7
Sure, top seeds tumbled on Thursday and Friday, but nobody really expected Luke Humphries’ name to be in that list.
“Cool Hand” swept Nathan Aspinall aside 6-2 with a 106 average and he’s once again on the march towards a ranking final.
Jonny Clayton has only got past the second round once in his six European Championship outings, and despite what could be a good effort by the “Ferret”, Humphries should get through with a few legs in hand.
Humphries knocked Clayton out of the World Grand Prix thanks to a 3-1 sets win just a few weeks ago, and not enough has changed for ‘revenge’.
