2024 European Tour – Dutch Open Darts Tips
The 2024 European Tour Dutch Open heads to Rosmalen this weekend

After the drama of this Thursday’s Premier League darts finale, we’re back on the European Tour grind this weekend as we head to Rosmalen in the Netherlands for the Dutch Open.
Dave Chisnall was a surprise but popular winner in 2023 and returns as one of the favourites this year, looking to make it back-to-back Dutch titles.
But an angry MVG will be tough to beat in front of his home fans after he was knocked out at the Premier League playoffs semi-final stage last night in London — only the second time he has lost his playoff semi-final in 11 years.
There’s a nice mix of players on show this weekend, and without the two Lukes (Humphries and Littler) present, there’s a big chance for an out-of-form player to bag a title.
Let’s take a look at some of the betting options.
Dave Chisnall to win the 2024 Dutch Open
An 8-5 win over Luke Humphries saw Dave Chisnall scoop this title back in 2023, but patchy form in 2024 means that the reigning champion is down at a meaty 16/1 to retain in the Netherlands.
He’s up against either Niels Zonneveld or Haupai Puha in the second round and has a tough trio of Stephen Bunting, Jonny Clayton and Ryan Searle in his corner.
On his day, there aren’t many players that can keep up with the scoring of Chisnall. He won three European Tour events in 2023 and will come into every tournament this season as a dark horse pick.
Michael van Gerwen to win the 2024 Dutch Open
With 36 European Tour titles over the years, it’s bordering on negligence to ignore MVG in the betting.
He wasn’t at his best at Premier League Finals night in London but will expect a strong reception in his homeland this weekend, looking to grab his first ET title of the 2024 season.
The “Green Machine” has actually only won one of his last 21 attempts at European Tour glory, but with a limited field in Rosmalen, van Gerwen comes home as a strong 4/1 favourite.
Despite struggling recently in the Premier League, MVG can brush players aside in a matter of legs; he may come unstuck but not until the semis or final.
Gerwyn Price to win the 2024 Dutch Open
“The Iceman” has made the semi-final minimum at three of the four European Tour events he has played this season, showing a bit of consistency he couldn’t manage in the Thursday Premier League evenings.
However, the Welshman has lost six of his last eight matches and will have to make some big improvements if he is to string five wins together and win in the Netherlands.
A quarter-final meeting with Josh Rock or Peter Wright could produce some headlines.
Martin Schindler to win the 2024 Dutch Open
Germany’s Martin Schindler broke his European Tour duck at the 2024 International Darts Open, winning his first ET title on his 53rd attempt.
He’s also got a semi-final to his name at the German Darts Grand Prix, so a chunky 20/1 pick to win in the Netherlands this weekend doesn’t look crazy.
Schindler is currently number 23 in the world and will feel positive in a quarter with Damon Heta, Daryl Gurney, and Ross Smith.
