Alejandro Garnacho is set for a summer move away from Manchester United, after manager Ruben Amorim made it clear that the winger was not part of his plans at the club.

The Argentina international was disciplined for social media posts and told to leave the club before the final game of the Premier League season, alerting several clubs throughout Europe to his availability this summer.

Online betting sites have Napoli as the favourites to secure his signature, while Chelsea are the only real alternative in the Premier League at this stage.

Here's a look at what the football betting markets are saying about Garnacho's future.

Napoli

Recently crowned Serie A champions, a move to Italy would secure Champions League football for Garnacho next season, something you would imagine he craves at this stage of his career.

It is unclear just how good Garnacho is or could be at this stage, having played in a poor Manchester United side for the last few years so Napoli are probably about as big as he could hope for - as the betting markets show, he is not being linked to any of the top tier European clubs.

He would be seen as a direct replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who left the club in the January window, with Antonio Conte employing two wingers to supply Romelu Lukaku in the front three.

Prices were cut pretty quickly on Wednesday morning suggesting there is major interest from the Italian champions, who have also been linked to Kevin De Bruyne.

Atletico Madrid

A move to Madrid would be a return to the club where he was born and spent five years in the academy before moving to Manchester United.

He never made an appearance for Atletico, but it must have a significant pull for him to return back to the club where he developed during his teenage years.

Like Napoli, they will have Champions League football to offer next season and are widely recognised as the third best side in LaLiga, even if the gap has widened a little bit between themselves, Barcelona and Real Madrid in the last couple of years.

Given their approach, it's not immediately obvious where he would fit into the side. They have always tended to play with a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 under Diego Simeone so out-and-out wingers have never really fitted, so stylistically does this move make sense?

Chelsea

If you need to offload some deadwood, Chelsea are the club most teams in Europe look towards at the moment.

That's not to say Garnacho is deadwood or doesn't have anything to offer, but we've seen with Jadon Sancho, Christopher Nkunku, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Joao Felix, Pedro Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall among others, that they are happy to pay huge sums of money for players almost without really thinking.

Garnacho is in a similar mould to a lot of those players, so it is very plausible that they will be tempted by another big name and splash out as they prepare for a return to the Champions League next season.

Whether Manchester United are happy to sell to a domestic rival or he is happy to stay in the Premier League remains to be seen, but given they were linked with him in January as well, this link would appear to have legs.

You would expect that Chelsea will look to offload players before bringing more in this summer though, so we might have to see a bit of movement before this one comes to fruition.

Stay at Manchester United

Of course, there is always the chance that he could stay at Old Trafford, although this appears very unlikely at this stage.

The club needs money to rebuild the squad and given the public falling out between Garnacho and Ruben Amorim, it looks like an obvious way of raising the cash required.

On the other hand, he is a promising young player who could yet grow into a reliable force in the Premier League capable of winning matches but there has been evidence both in Amorim and Bruno Fernandes that they are frustrated with Garnacho's efforts, and he does appear an awkward fit with the manager's style of play.

It is a long shot at this stage, but if he returns to Carrington with a different attitude later in the summer, it is easy to imagine him getting another chance.

Bayer Leverkusen

AC Milan do actually have shorter odds than Leverkusen (10/1 compared to 14/1), but it is worth including the deposed German champions following the appointment of Erik ten Hag over the weekend.

Ten Hag was in charge when Garnacho enjoyed the best spell of his short career to date so it would be an intriguing - if unlikely - link-up.

Leverkusen should raise a lot of money from the rumoured sale of Florian Wirtz which would enable them to look towards a player with significant sell-on value in line with their recruitment model, and Garnacho would fit into that nicely.

It is hard to see him moving to the Bundesliga though, no matter who is in charge. Garnacho appears to be someone who believes he belongs at the very top, and a move to Germany doesn't quite have the glamour he or his entourage thinks he is deserving of.
