BMW Championship 2-Ball Betting Tips - Day One

- Viktor Hovland to beat Byeong Hun An
- Shane Lowry to beat Robert MacIntyre
- Hideki Matsuyama to beat Collin Morikawa
The FedEx Cup is into the second leg, and this week, the action takes place at Castle Pines in Colorado.
Held there for the first time since 2014, the field has been condensed to 50. But reaching the Tour Championship and being in the magic 30 will be sharp on the minds of the players.
Moreover, there are 2,000 FedEx Cup points up for grabs at the BMW Championship, quadruple the amount for a regular event.
While the weather forecast looks suspect for this tournament, expect there to be plenty of fireworks on the course.
As is customary, I have provided a few BMW Championship 2-ball betting tips for you to feast on ahead of the first round., plus our best golf betting offers from the top online bookmakers.
BMW Championship 2-Ball Betting Tips - Day One
Check out my three selections for the opening round in Denver on Thursday, which are ideal for a 4/1 golf acca.
Viktor Hovland to beat Byeong Hun An
Despite being rather anonymous throughout the season, Viktor Hovland looked like his old self at the FedEx St Jude Championship last weekend.
A T2 will have given him plenty of hope, and he came very close to reeling in Hideki Matsuyama before the Japanese star recovered from a wobble to take the title by two strokes.
Nevertheless, Hovland, the reigning FedEx Cup champion, looked solid with the flat stick, and nothing less will do.
Byeong Hun An may be 15th in the FedEx Cup standings and with five top-10 finishes under his belt this term, but his SG: Putting and total driving performance metrics have left something to be desired.
To kick off my BMW Championship 2-ball betting tips, I’m going with Hovland to take the honours.
Shane Lowry to beat Robert MacIntyre
Last week was arguably a forgettable one for Shane Lowry as he finished T50 at the FedEx St Jude Championship, and he was overshadowed by compatriot Seamus Power.
However, Lowry is capable of producing magic, and in and around the greens, he is a dab hand. Yes, he currently ranks ninth for SG: Approach to the Green, so he could well shake things up this week.
In stark contrast, Robert MacIntyre finished five strokes adrift of Matsuyama in T7, so the Scot will have taken some confidence from that.
This is arguably one of the tougher picks, but if push comes to shove, then Lowry’s experience could give him the edge.
For my second tip, I’m leaning into Lowry to claim the spoils in the opening round.
Hideki Matsuyama to beat Collin Morikawa
You get the feeling sometimes that Collin Morikawa isn’t completely happy with his game.
Although there have been seven top-10 finishes this term, he had to settle for a T22 at the FedEx St Jude Championship, and he doesn’t have the same aura about him when he was collecting majors.
Matsuyama, meanwhile, will have breathed a huge sigh of relief after things nearly went horribly wrong before he got a grip and got over the line.
This will be an intriguing 2-ball, but I think Matsuyama should have a bit too much for Morikawa and make a strong impression on Thursday.
