Charles Schwab Challenge Free Bets, Betting Tips & Predictions

After the thrills and spills of the PGA Championship in Kentucky, the PGA Tour swings over to Texas for the Charles Schwab Challenge this week.
Having clinched his first maiden Major in Valhalla last weekend, Xander Schauffele, who pipped his countryman Bryson DeChambeau by one shot with a record score (-21), is taking a well-deserved breather.
Anyway, Colonial Country Club will be in the spotlight on Thursday, and having recently been renovated, it will be fascinating to see how the course plays.
A par-70 stretching nearly 7,300 yards doesn’t that sound daunting, and Zach Johnson holds the 72-hole record (259), a record that dates back to 2010.
And as seen in years gone by, there has been a tendency for low-scoring as shown by the 61s posted by Chad Campbell (2004) and Kevin Na (2018).
500 FedEx Cup points are up for grabs in this event, and there is a strong field contending, so it should make for good viewing.
But how will things pan out? I have scurried over to the betting markets and handpicked a couple of tips for you to consider ahead of the first round.
Scottie Scheffler to emerge as top dog once again
Despite what was a turbulent week at Valhalla after his run-in with the police, Scottie Scheffler shrugged things off and finished T8.
It was his 10th top-10 finish in 11 events so far this season, and he has been searingly brilliant.
Before the PGA Championship, many wondered who would knock him off his perch.
The American has also recorded two excellent results on his previous two visits to Colonial (T3 and T2), and he could take some beating this week.
While he’s a short price, I’m backing Scheffler to come out on top, and odds of 3/1 can be located at Paddy Power.
Collin Morikawa to have another strong week
Another player who is on the right trajectory is Collin Morikawa. Invariably, he comes to the fore at majors, and last weekend, he finished T4 at the PGA Championship.
Ok, his last two trips to Colonial have yielded a T29 and T40 which is nothing to shout home about, but he will have loftier ambitions this time around.
As mentioned, the newly designed Colonial could provide a few tests, although there are bunkers that have been removed and greens that have been lowered.
On the stats front, Morikawa tops the metric for driving accuracy (78.74%), and he could well be in the mix.
To accompany my first pick, I’ve gone with Morikawa to finish alongside Scheffler in the top 5, and there is an inviting price of 13/2 with BetVictor should you wish to investigate further.
