Championship Acca of the Week
I am a little surprised at the odds for this week's acca, having selected a mixture of bankers and form-based picks. There's nothing in the recent results to suggest we're going well against the grain here, so I'll be keeping a very close eye on this week's acca.
Leeds v Cardiff - Leeds to win to nil
Lock it in, rinse and repeat.
Leeds are beating teams for fun at Elland Road this season, and aren't conceding much at the opposite end. In 15 home games they have won 12, conceding seven and scoring 35 - with three of the goals conceded on the opening day.
I don't think Cardiff will cause too many problems.
Swansea v Coventry - Coventry to win
Are we in 'whisper it quietly' territory?
Frank Lampard has steadily brought Coventry up the table since his arrival, and they now have the best record since his arrival outside of the top four and QPR.
They are a good outside bet for the play-offs with this momentum, and with Swansea in freefall and without influential captain Matt Grimes I'm backing Coventry to pick up another three points.
Sheffield Wednesday v Luton - Sheffield Wednesday and BTTS
Neither side go into this in good form, which is why I think there will be goals at both ends but Luton have definitely been the worst of the two.
Wednesday picked up a good win at QPR last time out but before that they had been both scoring and conceding goals for fun, so it should be a fun game to follow.
Luton are short of goals but showed against Oxford that if given the opportunity they can cause some problems so it could be a fairly even game with home advantage counting.
Derby v Sheffield United - Sheffield United to win
I am a little surprised at Sheffield United's odds to win this game outright, which is why I think it offers good value in an acca.
True, they lost to Hull last. time out to make it two defeats in four but they are still a good side and they have strengthened over the past week or so.
Derby have been pretty miserable though and relegation is really looming. I don't give them much of a chance.
