FedEx St Jude Championship 2-Ball Betting Tips - Day One

- Justin Rose to beat Ben Griffin
- Tommy Fleetwood to beat Cameron Young
- Scottie Scheffler to beat Xander Schauffele
There’s something special in the air and everything is bubbling up nicely for the first of the FedEx Cup playoff series events.
Yes, the FedEx St Jude Championship will raise the curtain on this segment of the postseason programme on Thursday.
The top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings have qualified for this event, and by the time we reach the Tour Championship finale, there will be a mere 30 in the field.
Traditionally, most PGA Tour events will have three-ball groups for the first couple of rounds, but for this tournament, there are two-ball pairings instead.
So, with that in mind, I have compiled an acca of FedEx St Jude Championship 2-ball betting tips for you to drool over, plus our best golf betting offers from the top online bookmakers.
FedEx St Jude Championship 2-Ball Betting Tips - Day One
Check out my three selections for the opening round in Tennessee on Thursday, which are ideal for a 4/1 golf acca.
Justin Rose to beat Ben Griffin
Justin Rose will be able to rekindle some fabulous memories of his previous trip to TPC Southwind.
Last year, he equalled the record for the lowest round shot on Saturday (61), and remember, there’s no cut after Friday at this event as it comes after the final round.
The 2018 FedEx Cup champion, Rose has missed seven cuts this term, and that included the Wyndham Championship last week, so he will be looking to make amends.
Ben Griffin, however, will have taken confidence from his T7 at the Wyndham Championship, but his stats are fairly average. Currently, he’s 37th for SG: Total (0.683).
Given Rose’s experience, I’m kicking off my FedEx St Jude Championship 2-ball betting tips by backing the Englishman to come out on top.
Tommy Fleetwood to beat Cameron Young
Still probably on a high from his Olympic silver medal showing in Paris, Tommy Fleetwood, who is 32nd in the FedEx Cup table, is primed to have a good run.
Having sat out the Wyndham Championship last week, Fleetwood should feel well rested, and we all know how good his iron play is.
Cameron Young, meanwhile, who is a spot above Fleetwood in the FedEx Cup standings, has missed just one cut this term, so this could be a pulsating battle.
His SG: Off-the-tee stat makes for impressive reading (ranked 16th), and this could be a close run pairing.
For my second pick, I fancy Fleetwood to prevail which is worth exploring.
Scottie Scheffler to beat Xander Schauffele
The undoubted popcorn pairing will see the top two in the world rankings duke it out.
Scottie Scheffler, a recent Olympic gold medallist, has all but completed the game, and he would love to add a FedEx Cup title to his incredible list of achievements.
Xander Schauffele, similarly, has become one of the game’s hottest properties, and this pairing will make for unmissable viewing.
This could well be a birdie fest, so expect some low scores. However, if push came to shove, I’m going to go with Scheffler to edge this one.
