Jackson Page Becomes First Player to Make Two 147 Breaks in the Same Match
The Welshman is on fire in qualifying for the World Championship, bagging £147,000 and a piece of history

Perfection is often impossible to achieve in sport.
We live in an age where every second of every competition is placed under the microscope and scrutinised to death.
But there are some exceptions to the rule.
Here at Freebets, we believe that a 147 break in snooker sits on the hallowed turf alongside a hole-in-one, a nine-darter and a 300-point ten-pin game — it simply doesn't get better.
Jackson Page Double 147
Well, unless you can repeat it!
That's exactly what Welsh snooker player Jackson Page achieved this week in a qualifier for this month's World Championship — recording two maximum 147 breaks in the same match for the first time in snooker history.
The 23-year-old from Ebbw Vale achieved the unique feat in the eighth and 12th frames of his 10-2 win over Allan Taylor, pocketing himself a hefty cheque worth £147,000 and moving one step closer to a return to the Crucible.
And better yet, it was the first time in his career that he has achieved this feat in the professional game.
"It’s a great feeling to have my first and second on the tour but I’ve made loads in the club so it felt routine at the end," Page explained after his win.
"I never ever go for them in a match, but after the first one planted itself I had to go for the second one. I never usually do that but I did today and it paid off."
Jackson Page has had a promising season on the table, reaching a rankings event final and two other quarters. This followed a semi-final run at the World Open last March and he will be hopeful of escaping the qualifiers for the third time in nine attempts as we approach the fourth round.
Page is ranked number 35 in the world and 30th ranked Joe O'Connor takes on the Welshman in the final stages of qualifying on Wednesday.
But in a sport like snooker, form and momentum can be everything — Page is 100/1 to win the ultimate prize with snooker betting sites, a price that will only get shorter if he is able to continue racking up these monster breaks.
Snooker World Championship Qualifiers Round Up
Elsewhere in the race for the Crucible, former champion Stuart Bingham crashed out courtesy of a 10-6 loss to Nottingham's Michael Holt.
Former world number two Stephen Maguire is also out following a 10-3 shellacking at the hands of China's Gao Yang and 18-year-old sensation Stan Moody was edged out 10-9 by Jimmy Robertson.
Jack Lisowski and Tom Ford will also be missing from the main draw after surprising defeats.
