Championship Acca of the Week
I'm amazed at the odds we've got for this one but it could put us in for a massive winner so early in the year. There are no real bankers with Sheffield United away from home and Burnley and Leeds not playing until Wednesday, and as always with the Championship anyone can beat anyone else so that's why we have such long odds.
Middlesbrough v West Brom - Middlesbrough to win and BTTS
The longest odds of our selection, Boro's form is probably why they're 3/1 to win with both teams scoring but I still think they're a good side who will be there or thereabouts come May.
One trend I have noticed about West Brom since Carlos Corberan left in December is that goals have come a bit easier, with BTTS coming in in each of their last six matches in all competitions.
Boro's games haven't been quite so free-flowing and the defeat to Portsmouth last time out was a blow, but I think their class will out in this one.
Swansea v Sheffield United - Sheffield United to win
Sheffield United have been a bit hit and miss in recent weeks, and they are lucky not to have been left further adrift at the top of the table by Leeds.
They have two wins in their last six matches in all competitions so they're not quite the winning machine they were a few weeks ago, but Swansea's defeat to Cardiff on Saturday was a damaging one so they are vulnerable.
We could see a reaction from the Swans but I am backing the Blades to have enough to get past their opponents, and probably comfortably even if there aren't many goals.
Blackburn v Coventry - Blackburn win and under 3.5 goals
These are two sides who epitomise the Championship.
Either of them could finish sixth, and either of them could end up 12th and I couldn't confidently tell you which way round it would be. Blackburn are the team in the ascendency now, but I wouldn't bet against Coventry finding form in the second half of the season.
Under John Eustace however, Rovers are a tough nut to crack and favourites for this game, and with Coventry's recent games short on goals - they have not scored more than one in a game since Boxing Day, five games ago - I think we'll have a low-scoring Blackburn win.
Hull v QPR - Hull to win
Ruben Selles has quietly done a decent job since his appointment at Hull with three wins in nine league games which doesn't sound a lot, but considering where they were it is an improvement.
They have made a couple of wily additions - I think Joe Gelhardt could be a brilliant loan signing - and winning away at Millwall on Saturday was a massive three points, so I'm backing them to go again.
A home game to QPR will be one they target for a certain three points in the relegation battle, and even though QPR are in good form themselves, I fancy the Tigers to get the win.
