Justis Huni looks to add to Ipswich's woes this weekend in upsetting Fabio Wardley
The Australian challenger is injury-free following surgery in January and believes his time is now

If one stadium fight in the UK wasn't enough this weekend, how about another one in Ipswich?
Fabio Wardley and Justis Huni are set to put on a heavyweight showdown inside Portman Road on Saturday night, scrapping for the WBA's interimย world championship, with Wardley a short-priced favourite with the betting sites.

Huni โ fighting out of Brisbane, Australia โ stood in for American Jarrell Miller on six weeks notice, and is convinced he is going to play the role of spoiler in front of the Ipswich faithful, adding to their woes following the "Tractor Boys'" relegation from the Premier League this season.
"My time is now, everything has come together for this fight" he explained to freebets.com. In January, Huni underwent elbow surgery to fix an ongoing injury. "I had several chipped bones in my elbow โ something I have had to fight with for my whole pro career. Before the surgery, I didnโt know what it felt like to throw a jab without having this painful numbing sensation afterwards. I would be scared to miss, as this pain would come and wouldnโt disappear for a couple of rounds after. I guess I just learnt how to adapt and fight with it.
โBut now itโs fixed, I feel like a free man. I wonโt go into spars of fights with that nagging feeling at the back of my brain of it going again. I have been punching well for the past couple of months since the surgery, just getting back into the swing of things, and I am ready to let it fly against Wardley.
โI guess the timing of this fight was just meant to be. This fight is potentially life-changing for me, so to come into it with basically a fully functioning elbow is great.โ
Fabio Wardley is on the cusp of some massive fights in the heavyweight division, and will be well aware of the possible banana skin that Huni could turn out to be. The Ipswich fighter is still pretty inexperienced on a world level and Huni's amateur pedigree could well pose questions to the 30-year-old that he hasn't yet been forced to answer.
Underneath Oleksandr Usyk, there is a very healthy blend of heavyweights fighting it out for spots in the second and third tiers. A win for either man on Saturday would strengthen their argument for a seat at one of the top tables, and Huni is convinced it will be his hand getting raised.
"I do everything better than Wardley, but perhaps he has the edge in power over me," he concluded. "I'd be stupid to trade with him, so I am going to have to rely on my ring IQ to get a win and change my life forever."
