We have two evening racing fixtures on Tuesday, July 2, with racing coming from Lingfield and Stratford.
With one flat card and one jumps card, there’s something for everyone, and we have both Lingfield tips and Stratford tips ahead of the off.
Resident tipster Alan Kelly is the one providing today’s tips, with his NAP of the day running at Lingfield, and his Next Best at Stratford.

Lingfield Tips
Alan Kelly gives his thoughts on the Lingfield 7:00pm race below:
Stepping up to a mile and a quarter for the first time, the Gary & Josh Moore-trained RED CLOUD (Nap) ran out a comfortable winner at Chepstow last Monday, landing our nap in the process. The Sioux Nation gelding has his first start on the all-weather tonight, and over an extra two furlongs the mount of Tom Queally is expected to follow up in this Classified Stakes.
This will be just the seventh career start for the three-year-old, who has improved with every outing this season following three runs as a juvenile at odds of 66/1, 100/1 and 200/1. Red Cloud is open to even more improvement over this kind of trip and against a field featuring mainly exposed rivals, it will be disappointing if the selection fails to continue his progression in such a modest contest.
Sir Mark Prescott’s Top Flight Century, a disappointing favourite at Windsor recently after showing promise when runner-up at Chepstow nine days earlier, is a possible danger along with Jim & Suzi Best’s Piranheer, second over course and distance at odds of 150/1 last month and with top jockey Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle for the first time.
Stratford Tips
Next up, Alan Kelly goes to the Stratford 8:10pm, with his thoughts on this race below:
This looks a good opportunity for David Pipe’s top weight NIBRAS GOLD (Next Best) to open his account over fences at just the second attempt. The Golden Horn gelding boasts a consistent record over hurdles with two wins and six seconds from 11 starts and the prospect that the six-year-old will do even better over the bigger obstacles.
Jack Tudor’s mount, following a break of 217 days, made his chasing debut at Ffos Las towards the end of May, looking sure to win when taking the lead 2 out only to be caught close home by Jonjo & A J O’Neill’s Bob Bob Ricard, also making his debut over fences and in receipt of 6lb from the Pond House runner-up.
The form of that race received a big boost when the winner went on to follow-up three weeks later at Worcester off a 5lb higher mark and now with a rating of 124. With that run under his belt and off a mark of 119, Nibras Gold is clearly the one to beat with this longer trip no problem for a horse who won twice on the flat over 1m 6f.
Archie Watson’ Walkingoneggshells is interesting on his chasing and handicap debut, the mount of Nick Scholfield, an Irish point-to-point winner last year, worth checking for any market move. Chris Down’s Fat Sam is a well-handicapped horse and better than his recent run on this course last month would suggest.
