Luke Littler adds to his growing title collection Down Under in Wollongong

Luke Littler continued to flex his darting muscles Down Under this weekend, winning his first World Series event of the season.
The teenager was favourite with sports betting sites to lift the title in Wollongong but he gave his supporters an early fright.
Free Bets darts expert, Lewis Watson, looks back at Littlers performance in Australia over the weekend.
The "Nuke" toppled Mike De Decker 8-4 in Saturday's final, righting the wrongs of 12 months previous when he lost the 2024 final 8-1 to a rampant Gerwyn Price.
And if that wasn't enough reason for concern for the rest of the PDC Tour card holders, Littler did it with the Wollongong crowd on his back.
"There was a group to my rightโฆ every time I didn't hit a treble they were like 'rubbish, rubbish'", he explained following another title-winning effort in 2025.
"Someone said I was washed. Not sure what he meant, obviously I'm washed but I just won. But the darts did the talking."
Littler blitzed his way past De Decker, Stephen Bunting and Josh Rock in the final stages, but his sternest test came in the opening round against local Australian talent Haupai Puha.ย
A modest 92 average from Littler saw him scrape through 6-5 in the first round, enabling him to move through the gears as the cream of the PDC crop entered the fray from the quarter-finals onwards.โIt feels very good. Itโs another one I can tick off,โ
Littler said after winning a World Series event for the first time in six attempts this year. โI played very well tonight. I didnโt play so well last night in the first round but tonight is when it really matters.
โItโs not gone to plan this year in the World Series but there are plenty of opportunities to win and Iโve finally picked one up,โ added Littler, whoโs been in near-perfect form in other events, particularly with his victories in the Premier League and recent World Matchplay.
The New Zealand Darts Masters is next on the agenda as the World Series of Darts offers its seventh and final event of the season โ another title that the teenager will look to bag following a semi-final exit in 2024.
Littler's consistency at such a tender age is becoming his signature and the most impressive thing about his performances.ย
After a stretch of ranked PDC events in the autumn, attention will soon be turning to the 2026 World Championship, and atย 5/4 with bet365ย to defend his title, it's hard to argue against Littler under the lights of the Ally Pally.
