Next QPR Manager Odds: Wilder Added to Loftus Road Manager Betting

LATEST UPDATE - Although Julien Stephan remains the odds-on favourite in the next QPR manager odds, ex-Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has been added to the betting after his recent dismissal at Bramall Lane.
The football betting sites have former Rennes boss Stephan as comfortable favourite to land the job at Loftus Road after Cifuentes was placed on gardening leave at the end of the season.
Free Bets takes a closer look at the leading candidates to be the new man in charge at Loftus Road.
Next QPR Manager Odds
Hereโs a closer look at the leading contenders for the Queens Park Rangers job with the latest betting sites odds.
Manager | Odds |
Julien Stephan | 1/3 |
Johannes Hoff Thorup | 8/1 |
Sergen Yalรงฤฑn | 10/1 |
Chris Wilder | 12/1 |
Julien Stephan
Julien Stephan is one of the most tactically astute young managers in French football and would be a major coup for QPR.
Best known for his impressive spell at Rennes - where he won the Coupe de France and guided them to the Champions League - Stephan is tactically flexible, able to implement a high-pressing 4-3-3 or a more compact shape depending on the squad.
He focuses on intelligent positional play, rapid transitions, and building around young talent. His brief time at Strasbourg was more turbulent, but his overall resume suggests a manager capable of working at a high level.
For QPR, who are looking to stabilise and rebuild with a clearer footballing identity, Stรฉphan could inject structure, ambition, and European sophistication.
The main challenge would be convincing him to take on a Championship project - but if the board can sell the long-term vision, Stephan offers a blend of pedigree and modern tactical philosophy.
Johannes Hoff Thorup
Johannes Hoff Thorup has drifted in the odds somewhat having been the frontrunner for this role at one point.
He is believed to have turned the club down - according to reports in Denmark - after being approached for talks, with the club clearly impressed by his first season in English football with Norwich, even if he lost his job before the end of the season.
At just 36, Hoff Thorup already shows the calmness and clarity of someone with a decade more experience. For QPR, he represents a forward-thinking appointment in the mould of Martรญ Cifuentes: someone who can instil a modern philosophy and work within a sustainable, development-focused model.
Given how his reign at Norwich ended it is a little bit of a surprise that he has turned down an immediate return to the Championship, I'm not sure how many chances he will get this summer at this level.
Sergen Yalรงฤฑn
Sergen Yalรงฤฑn has emerged as a candidate for the Queens Park Rangers managerial vacancy in recent days.
The 52-year-old Turkish coach, who led Beลiktaล to a domestic double in 2021, has since managed Antalyaspor in early 2024 before departing at the end of his contract.
Yalรงฤฑn is renowned for deploying attacking formations (typically 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1), strong man management, and tactical flexibility.
While he reportedly turned down a return to Beลiktaล to prioritise family commitments, a move to the Championship could occur with his long-held ambition to manage abroad.
Chris Wilder
Wilder has been added to the betting market following his sacking from Sheffield United earlier this week, despite leading them to last season's Championship play-off final.
He is known for his direct tactics, defensive organisation, and winning promotions with Sheffield United and Northampton, earning multiple EFL Manager of the Month awards.
With proven Championship pedigree, strong man-management, and experience delivering over-achievement under pressure, Wilder could offer QPR a credible route back to automatic promotion.
