NFL Draft Round 1 Recap: Cam Ward #1 to Titans

The first round of the NFL Draft took place last night, and as ever, it was a dramatic few hours off the field.
Rosters are shaping up, teams made moves, some players won big and some missed out, the beauty of the entry draft was shown in style.
The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl favourites with UK bookmakers as we stand, but last night will have shaped the future for many teams, both in the coming season and beyond.

Cam Ward is a Titan!
The worst kept secret in the NFL world was finally revealed last night as the Tennessee Titans took QB, Cam Ward, with the first pick.
The Miami man had been tipped to be the number one pick for weeks. Ward is an exciting prospect who Titans head coach, Brian Callahan, hopes will be able to push them on next season.
The Jags spend big to make a huge splash!
In a complete surprise the Jacksonville Jaguars spent big to move up to the second pick. They went and got CB/WR stud Travis Hunter. It cost them a second round pick this year and next year’s first round pick, but general manager James Gladstone said they wanted to make a huge splash.
UK fans should be excited to see Hunter in London later this year.
Jeanty falls to the Raiders!
Despite loads of speculation, top RB Ashton Jeanty fell to the Raiders at six. The Boise State star was expected to go in the top five, but he will now be going to Vegas.
Jeanty is one of the most exciting prospects in this year’s draft. Last season he rushed for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns. Raider nation has a future stud.
Tetairoa McMillan goes in the top 10!
Not many people had wide receiver Tet McMillan going to the Carolina Panthers at eight. The Arizona wide receiver has looked great throughout his time at the Wildcats and will be the main guy in Carolina.
Bryce Young has himself a new weapon.
Cowboys reach for the wrong position!
Another surprise came at pick 12 when the Dallas Cowboys took Tyler Booker. The guard from Alabama was not expected to go this early.
Not only that but the Cowboys have a huge need at wide receiver. He now joins an O-line with Tyler Smith and Tyler Guyton. Make it make sense Jerry!
Giants trade back in the first round!
The New York Giants gave up a second and third round pick to move back into round one. In doing so they got themselves QB Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss.
The exciting prospect will be able to sit behind Russell Wilson and develop. He can use his legs in the run game and is an accurate thrower. Great move by the Giants.
Eagles trade up one spot for Jihaad Campbell
The Eagles got themselves a steal again despite being back at pick 32. They moved up one spot to take Alabama’s Linebacker Jihaad Campbell.
He had been touted as a top twenty pick easily but fell due to his shoulder surgery. Eagles general manger Howie Roseman does it again!
Shedeur Sanders doesn’t go in the first round!
Arguably the biggest shock of the night was the fall of Colorado QB, Shedeur Sanders. The Buffaloes star was rumoured to be going to the Giants, Browns, Saints and Steelers at different points in the draft process.
Now he must wait for day two to see here he will go. A big fall from grace for Sanders.
