Scottish Premiership Preview: Derby Duels
It’s a busy evening of action in the Scottish Premiership on Tuesday with five matches, including the Edinburgh derby and the Dundee derby.
Hibs welcome rival Hearts to Easter Road with the Jambos sitting 3rd in the table behind Rangers and Celtic, who clash tomorrow night.
Hearts looks a cracking price at 13/8 with 888sport to take the win this evening, having won their last three on the road and kept clean sheets in those three victories.
Hibs, meanwhile, are a team in transition under new boss Shaun Maloney and have lost four of their last seven Premiership home games.
And the visitors in the Dundee derby also look a great price to grab victory – United are 2/1 at Paddy Power to take the win against a Dee’s side that have lost six of their last seven league matches.
Both sides are struggling for form, but United were unlucky to not hold on for a point at Celtic Park at the weekend, and they’re unbeaten in their last four clashes with Dundee.
And Dundee could drop to the foot of the Scottish Premiership table with a loss coupled with a St Johnstone win who travel to the Tony Macaroni Arena to take on Livingston.
However, Saints haven’t won since October and have picked up just one point from their last nine league matches.
Livingston look a short price tonight, but they should have enough class to edge out St Johnstone in a low-scoring match – a 2-1 victory for Livi looks a nice price at 10/1 with William Hill.
Up north, Ross County travel to Pittodrie to take on Aberdeen and having scored once more at the weekend against Rangers, Regan Charles-Cook looks a tasty price at 10/3 with bet365 to get on the scoresheet again tonight.
And the final match this evening sees St Mirren clash with Motherwell, and with three of the last four games between this pair ending a draw, another stalemate could well be on the cards tonight – the 11/5 on the draw at BetVictor looks a fair price.
