Latest St James' Palace Betting Odds
Despite Ruling Court winning the first meeting between the front two, it's Field Of Gold that is odds on for success at Royal Ascot.
Clearly the view from betting sites is that the horse should have won at Newmarket, and his performance at The Curragh in the Irish 2000 Guineas proved that.
Henri Matisse, winner of the French 2000 Guineas for Aidan O'Brien is third in, and is the only other runner to be at single figure odds, in a market dominated by the front three.
Colin Keane will take the ride on Field Of Gold, he was much the best in Ireland last time out, Keane's first time on the horse and an early chance to land a first Royal Ascot winner since becoming stable jockey to Juddmonte Farm.
It was the ride of Field Of Gold that was probably the final straw for Kieran Shoemark, ending his association with trainer John Gosden. Shoemark came under plenty of criticism for his ride in the English 2000 Guineas, and just days later, was relieved of his position as stable jockey to Gosden.
