England v Australia T20 Betting Tips & Preview - Game Two
If you’re a glass half full person, you will look at the opening game of this series in Southampton and say, ‘England did well to come back and bowl Australia out for 179 after they reached 86-0 in the sixth over’.
The glass half empty view was that Australia, defending 180, won pretty comfortably by 28 runs (England bowled out for 151) without being at their best.
This series, with neither side at full strength, will likely prove that Australia are ahead of England at present. Their depth of talent is just greater at this moment in time.
Brendon McCullum has work to do when he takes over the white ball job in January, though at least he does have tools to work with.
There’s no denying the talent is there. But we might just have to go through a bit more pain before the pleasure returns.
Instead of taking the 8/13 on an Australia win in Cardiff, I’d be more interested in an Aussie win and Travis Head to hit a six. That’s available at Evens with Betway via their Pre-built bets section.
No reason to steer clear of Terrific Travis
There are two prices on individual success for Australians which I want to suggest, and it’s been a regular theme for us of late.
Leg-spinner Adam Zampa brought us continued success through his performances for the Oval Invincibles in the Hundred, and he struck twice in the opening game.
I’d be taking Betway’s 6/5 on Zampa to take two or more wickets at Cardiff, where it’s not uncommon for the pitch to be slow, low and useful for the spinners.
That’s available via their Player Props section.
Travis Head brought us reward in the opening game with 59 off 23 balls at the top of the order, including four sixes.
He has been in excellent form in various tournaments of late and is probably Australia’s best all-format batter at present.
Bet365′s 11/4 on the left-hander to be his side’s top run-scorer is a price I would be taking.
Backing Jof is justified
Jofra Archer has been in excellent form of late and has only failed to strike once in his last 10 appearances in either the Hundred, for Sussex in the Blast or for England. He has taken two wickets in each of his last three appearances for club and country.
I’d be keen to side with him to be England’s top wicket-taker in this match, at 7/2 with Paddy Power.
When there’s quality spin on show, as is the case with leg-spin pair Zampa and Adil Rashid, I’m generally drawn to Betfair’s selection of a duck, a stumping and a run out in the match.
We saw a run out and a duck in the series opener. If the pitch is slower in Cardiff, we might be able to add a stumping.
That’s available at 4/1 via the #YourOdds section.
