Third Test: England v West Indies Cricket Betting Tips and Betting Odds
West Indies did at least show some fight at Trent Bridge, but it wasn’t enough to suggest a win is on the cards in Birmingham.

- Either team to win by an innings - 9/4 with bet365
- Zak Crawley to score a first-innings fifty - 7/4 with Betano
- Kavem Hodge 18+ in the first innings, Ben Duckett 30+ runs - 23/10 with William Hill
- Kavem Hodge to be West Indies’ highest scorer in the first innings - 11/2 with betfair
- Zak Crawley to be player of the match - 15/2 with bet365
Before a ball was bowled in this series, I thought West Indies may have enough in their locker to get on the board in this series. They have tested England significantly across all formats in recent years and took a Test off Australia in Australia at the start of the year.
But it’s not looking likely. They fought back in the first innings of the second Test at Trent Bridge over the weekend to take a first-innings lead with a 457 total in reply to 416. But then they went and undid that good work when bowled out for 143 in the second innings, losing all 10 wickets in a single session on day four.
I still don’t feel like England have nailed it with the bat, despite posting scores of 371 and 416 in the first innings. At Lord’s, they slipped from 123-1. At Trent Bridge, they should have got more having been set at 281-4.
Rather than taking England to win outright, I think bet365′s 9/4 on either team to win by an innings is worth serious consideration.

Don’t dodge Hodge and let’s have a crack with Zak
I’m going to take a bit of a flyer with this next bet, but I feel like Zak Crawley is due a score.
Yes, he scored 76 in the first innings of the series at Lord’s, but aside from that he’s struggled of late. In fact, his list of scores for Kent in the Vitality Blast recently could make up a telephone number; 0, 4, 1, 7, 4, 20.
The England opener is a difficult man to weigh up - he’s rarely racking up score after score. But out of nowhere, he will come up with something special such as the 189 he scored against Australia at Emirates Old Trafford last July.
I would be considering Betano’s 7/4 for Crawley to score a first-innings fifty.
Kavem Hodge has been one of the few West Indies’ bright lights having scored a superb 120 in the first innings at Trent Bridge.
With that in mind, I like William Hill’s #YourOdds special of 23/10 on him to score over 18 runs in the first innings added to over 30 for England’s opener Ben Duckett, who hit 71 and 76 at Trent Bridge.
Hodge has scored two hundreds on this tour, including one in a warm-up match against a Counties Select XI. It’s, therefore, a surprise that he’s as juicy as 11/2 with betfair to be the West Indies’ top run-scorer in the first innings.
And to finish this Test Match bettings tips preview, I’m going to go for Crawley to be player of the match at 15/2 with bet365.
