Here are our Tottenham v Manchester United predictions, odds and free bet tips from our range of football betting sites ahead of the game.
Tottenham v Manchester United Match Preview
Seeing Tottenham floundering in the league this term has been a bit of an anathema, but injuries have been part and parcel of their dramatic demise.
Throw in the unyielding tactics of Ange Postecoglou, and therein lies the problem.
Manchester United, meanwhile, aren’t exactly thriving, and their shortcomings on the pitch have been mirrored by the angst of it, with reports emerging of rising ticket prices and the prospect of job cuts.
A victory for either side would be morale-boosting, and in the context of their respective campaigns, three points seem a necessity.
With that in mind, I’ve posted a couple of tips to sit alongside my Tottenham Manchester United predictions.
Tottenham to dispel the doom and gloom
Being dumped out of two Cup competitions in three days was highly disappointing for Tottenham.
Well, the manner of the 2-1 reverse away to Aston Villa was worrying. Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey constantly made driving runs through the centre of the park and gave Tottenham’s backline a serious headache.
Tottenham currently have 11 players out injured, and although some are close to returning to the fold, the United game may have come too soon for many of them.
On the positives, Tottenham have already disposed of United twice this season (league and EFL Cup), and the 3-0 win at Old Trafford back in September only heaped the pressure on then Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag.
Also, only Arsenal (49) and Liverpool (58) have scored more goals than Tottenham (48) in the league this term, so finding the target shouldn’t be too much of a challenge for the North London outfit.
Tottenham are looking to record back-to-back wins for just the second time this term, and the last time they did that was back in September against Brentford and Manchester United.
That is something to marvel at given the potential symmetry that could be replicated this weekend. To open my Tottenham Manchester United predictions, I’m going with the 6/5 Early Payout special at Ladbrokes advertised for Tottenham. If Tottenham take a two-goal lead at any point during the 90 minutes, you will win your pick.
Mathys Tel to have his say
It’s still quite early to make any cast-iron judgments about Tottenham’s January signing Mathys Tel.
Against Liverpool in the EFL Cup, he was largely anonymous after coming on as a substitute.
But against Villa, he was a bit more lively. He netted his first goal for his new club with a stylish flicked finish which ultimately proved to be a mere consolation.
Tel’s pace could test United, and to round things off, I’m going with the Frenchman to net the last goal of the game. He’s available at an intriguing 13/2 with Betano.
