Make no mistake: this is to be considered a tick-over fight for Amanda Serrano before she narrows in on a long-awaited rematch with Katie Taylor.
The unified featherweight champion is moving up to super light-weight in preparation for her rematch with the Irish legend, and she’s going to re-wet her feet against the unheralded Stevie Morgan on the Jake Paul undercard.
Serrano isn’t used to non-title fights, but following the postponement of Paul-Tyson the powers that be also decided to shift Serrano-Taylor back to November.
Morgan tends to fight in Colombia and his been knocking her opponents out in the first round over the last six fights...
But don’t read too much into this or the level of opposition that the 35-year-old has been facing. Serrano is one of the very best in the sport, ever, and will probably be looking to break the American down inside the distance.
Jake Paul to beat Mike Perry by KO/TKO/Disqualification
We’re not expecting this fight to be anything more than a chance for Paul to gain another knockout for his highlights reel, and the chance to advertise his rescheduled fight with Mike Tyson in November.
To Paul’s credit, he has decided to take boxing very seriously over the past couple of years.
The “Problem Child” is devoted, in-shape, hits hard and is more than capable of adding to his 6 KOs as a professional against another UFC veteran who is deciding to mix it in the world of boxing.
Perry’s only other boxing fight (in 2015 vs Kenneth McNeil) ended in a KO loss in the fourth round, and considering he lost eight times as an MMA fighter, losing won’t be a stranger to the 32-year-old.
