Bank of Utah Championship Golf Betting Tips, Predictions & Odds

The FedEx Cup Fall series continues this week with the Bank of Utah Championship in Ivins.
With players scrapping it out for a place on next year's tour, it stands to be a significant week for the field, with Michael Thorbjornsen the early favourite with sports betting sites.
Free Bets golf expert Ben Smith takes a look at his golf betting tips for this weekend's action from the Black Desert Resort.
Bank of Utah Championship Betting Tips
After a short break, the PGA Tour heads to southern Utah for the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship at Black Desert Resort.
Set against a backdrop of red cliffs and black lava fields, the high-desert layout near St. George delivers one of the most distinctive visuals on the schedule. Designed by Tom Weiskopf and opened in 2023, it measures 7,421 yards but plays shorter at altitude.
The wide fairways and firm greens promote attacking golf, while two driveable par 4s add extra intrigue.
As the FedExCup Fall reaches its final stretch, players are under pressure to lock up their 2026 status, and after a winning score of 23-under last year, another week of low scoring seems likely.
Tip 1: Winner - Lee Hodges (Each-Way) (6 places)
Lee Hodgesโ recent results might not jump off the page, but he looks closer to finding form than the finishes suggest.
Yes, he missed the cut at the Scottish Open, Barracuda Championship, and 3M Open, but before that, he produced a solid run of 21-34-9, and his overall game has steadied again since.
The ball-striking remains a real strength. Heโs gained strokes from tee to green in 11 of his last 13 measured starts, and thatโs a promising sign returning to Black Desert Resort, where he finished T8 last year after gaining over nine strokes tee to green.
If the putter cooperates, which is more likely now than it was this time last year, a return to contention looks well within reach.
Tip 2: Winner - Patrick Fishburn (Each-Way) (6 places)
Patrick Fishburn sits 98th in the FedExCup Fall standings, just inside the all-important top 100 who will retain full PGA Tour status for next season.
On current form, he is nicely placed to stay there. He hasnโt missed a cut since the Rocket Mortgage Classic in June - a run that includes a T6 at the ISCO Championship and T8 at the Wyndham Championship.
His long game has been a big asset of late, and he can seriously heat up on the greens, which is exactly whatโs needed in a week where birdies will be plentiful. With his consistency and scoring potential, Fishburn looks well capable of cementing his 2026 card.
Tip 3: Winner - Carson Young (Each-Way) (10 places)
Carson Youngโs putting can fluctuate from week to week, but he found the right side of that variance at Black Desert Resort last year, gaining strokes on the greens in all four rounds to finish T11.
Many assumed the power players would have the advantage in the open surroundings, but Lucas Glover and Kevin Streelman shared third place in 2024, proving precision can go a long way here.
That plays into Youngโs strengths. Heโs not the longest, but he keeps it in play and has been dialled in with his irons as of late.
Sitting 134th in the FedExCup Fall, he needs a positive week to push toward the top 100, and this setup gives him a genuine chance to do it.
Tip 4: Winner - Nick Hardy (Each-Way) (5 places)
While short, accurate hitters have every chance at Black Desert Resort, bombers can absolutely thrive, too, and Nick Hardy is one that makes appeal.
He drove the ball superbly when finishing T8 at Hurstbourne Country Club five starts ago, and although his form dipped slightly after, a month-long break should have him refreshed. Returning to a course where he also finished T8 last year could spark a timely resurgence.
Both of his best results this season have come straight after missed cuts, suggesting he bounces back quickly. The putter remains the swing factor and usually lets him down, but when it cooperates, the spikes are often significant.
