NFL Tips: Sunday Acca Predictions & Betting Odds: Week Six
Week five was a crazy week in the NFL with a ton of upsets all weekend long.
The Bills, Chiefs, Eagles and Seahawks were all favourites and ended up falling short. On top of that we saw the first of the London games as the Vikings beat the Browns in a close affair.
Now we move on to week six and we have got another accumulator for you to have a go at. This 6/1 five-fold comes from Paddy Power and should bring you a nice winner to be part of an exciting slate of games.
NFL Sunday Acca Tips
Here's the five teams that make up Sunday's acca. Below there's full reasoning and the latest game odds from UK betting sites for the main game markets.
Odds on the acca are available with Paddy Power, and the current Paddy Power sign up offer is focused around the NFL, with free bet builders up to £50 available, full terms can be seen below.
Tip 1: Denver Broncos -3.5 @ New York Jets (Alternate handicap market)
Having the first leg of an accumulator happen before the rest of the games isn’t normally a good idea. If it loses then you are done before the main action has started. However, this one is too good to miss.
The Broncos made it to the playoffs last year and are looking like a team that can build on that success. They are currently 3-2 after five weeks and they are unlucky to only have three wins. Both of their losses have been by three points or fewer.
One thing that is impressive though is being able to go away to the Eagles and beat them. Not only did they beat them, but they came back from a losing position to take the win. Results like that don’t happen every week and it shows that the Broncos have strength in character.
Now they are facing a beaten down and poor looking team in the New York Jets. The Jets are currently 0-5 and they are the only team in the NFL not to have won a game.
There was hope that when new head coach Aaron Glenn took over, he could sprinkle some of the magic from Detroit. Unfortunately for Jets fans that has not materialised. It’s hard to see where a win is going to come from currently and going up against a team like the Broncos will not help matters. Expect an easy Broncos victory.
Tip 2: Indianapolis Colts -4.5 vs Arizona Cardinals (Alternate handicap market)
The Colts are looking like an impressive team this season. Not many people saw it coming but its true. Daniel Jones has performed well and star running back Jonathon Taylor is looking great.
They are currently 4-1 and when they win, they tend to win big. They have beaten the Dolphins by 25, the Titans by 21 and the Raiders by 34. People might say they are just beating up on poorer teams but a close win against the Broncos shows they are more than that.
Fortunately for the Broncos they have got another poor team to go up against this weekend in the Cardinals. Seeing the Cardinals at 2-3 most people might think the Cardinals are not too bad.
However, the big problem this team has is the inability to close out games. Multiple times they have been ahead and let leads slip, turning them into losses. The worst being last week against the Titans. The Cardinals have lost three on the bounce and confidence is low. Expect a dominant Colts to turn up and take an easy victory.
Tip 3: Pittsburgh Steelers -2.5 vs Cleveland Browns (Alternate handicap market)
The Steelers are good at just doing enough to get a win. Beating the Jets by two, the Patriots by seven and the Vikings by three proves they won’t destroy teams often. However aside from a loss to a good Seahawks team they do still win them.
They had a good trip over to Dublin beating the Vikings comfortably, despite the score, and then got themselves a bye last week. Aaron Rodgers is looking solid at quarterback, and the defence is slowly getting better as the season progresses.
Here they get to take on a Browns team that is struggling at 1-4. Only a shock win against the Packers is a positive from a poor season that has meant the Browns are already on their second quarterback.
Rookie Dillion Gabriel started against the Vikings in London last week and wasn’t anything special. Statistically you can say he did alright, but he won’t win you many NFL games. Take the Steelers at -2.5 to just do enough and get the win by at least three.
Tip 4: Dallas Cowboys to win @ Carolina Panthers
The Cowboys are entertaining to say the least. Currently sitting at 2-2-1 it does feel like you don’t know what you are going to get from America’s Team. One thing you do know is that there will be points and plenty of them.
In their two wins they Cowboys offence has scored 31 and 37 points. In their tie with the Packers, they put up 40 points. They must do this is they have any chance of winning games as their defence is poor.
Fortunately for the Cowboys they are travelling to Carolina to face a Panthers defence that can be scored on. It was only two weeks ago that the Patriots put 42 points up against the Panthers and a similar thing could happen here.
The Panthers have had a bumpy season sitting at 2-3 and it looks like it could continue here with another loss. Expect the Cowboys offence to overpower the Panthers and get the win.
Tip 5: LA Rams -2.5 @ Baltimore Ravens (Alternate handicap market)
The Rams have had more of a bumpy ride than people would have expected so far this season. They currently have a 3-2 record after wins against the Texans, Titans and Colts but have lost to the Eagles and 49ers.
Losing to the Eagles and 49ers isn’t anything to be ashamed of as both are good teams, but the Rams should be able to beat the best.
Here they are going up against a Ravens side that have been decimated by injuries. Apart from a win against the Browns in week two they have lost all their games and now sit 1-4.
It’s hard to see them beat the Rams as it looks like Lamar Jackson will be out again, and a lot of their defence is still injured. They got destroyed at home by the Texans last Sunday 44-10 and another loss looks likely. Take the Rams at -2.5 to complete the bet.
