2024 Snooker World Championship – Day 5 Tips
The 2024 Snooker World Championship is here and we’ve got some tips and predictions from Day 5 at the Crucible

It’s Wednesday at the World Championship, which means only one thing – Ronnie O’Sullivan’s return to the Sheffield baize.
Can the seven-time world champion make it eight?
Let’s take a closer look at the Day 5 action.
Ronnie O’Sullivan to beat Jackson Page 10-4
It’s hard to avoid the Ronnie O’Sullivan headlines this week in Sheffield.
Snooker’s GOAT is attempting to go 8-8-8 in Triple Crown titles by the time Bank Holiday Monday comes around, and Jackson Page is the first man in his way if he is to regain the title he last won in 2022.
The history books aren’t kind to Page – but they aren’t to many of the “Rocket’s” opponents.
O’Sullivan leads 2-0 in head-to-heads and 10-4 on aggregate, so we will crunch the numbers and predict a mean repeat on Wednesday (and Thursday).
Page is No. 43 in the world and will probably only be able to lay a glove on O’Sullivan when he over-attacks without the openings being right. He’s in good form, having run to the semi-finals of the World Open in March, and he should be able to grab a few consolation frames.
Jamie Jones to beat John Higgins
Despite being a serial semi-finalist on the WST this season, John Higgins’ form coming into the Crucible hasn’t been ideal.
The four-time world champion has lost four of his last six ranking matches to Zhang Anda, Gary Wilson, Jackson Page, and Mark Allen, and in a race to 10 in the opening round of the World Championship, the “Wizard” is ripe for a shock.
Jamie Jones has his tail up after knocking out former king of the baize Neil Robertson in qualifying and will fancy his chances of a similar run to that in 2012 which saw him to the quarter-finals.
Jones has had a poor season, but timing and form are everything in snooker - an 11/4 shot as an underdog suggests another seed will tumble in the Steel City.
