Although the Carabao Cup may be positioned at the bottom of any Premier League club’s priorities, the fact that a member of the Big Six has won each of the last 11 editions of the competition suggests it is still a trophy worth winning.

At the same time, Newcastle’s two-game excursion in North London has already got off to a profitable start and with the Magpies getting the better of Spurs on Saturday, it is now five league wins in a row for the Tyneside outfit.
A run that just goes to show that sometimes it only needs one tactical tweak to unlock the true talents of the team and with Newcastle’s midfield looking revitalised in recent weeks, they will soon be given a rather tough test at the Emirates.
But now it is time for the first of my two tips, and I think Newcastle will look at this from a case of making sure the tie is still alive before the second leg. Therefore, I am going to opt for a home win and both teams to score at odds of 9/4 with bet365.
