Australia v England Preview
England head into this Champions Trophy on the back of a 3-0 defeat in India, a series in which they never threatened.
World champions Australia, meanwhile, lost 2-0 in Sri Lanka earlier this month and have arrived in Pakistan without fast-bowling guns Pat Cummins - their captain - Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc.
All-rounder Marcus Stoinis has also recently retired from ODI cricket.
You will have noted from my pre-tournament preview that I don’t expect either to win this group. South Africa, I believe, will be the ones.
And given Australia’s absentees, it has levelled the playing field. At their strongest, they are miles ahead of England at present. But not now.
Though, I still expect Steve Smith and co to come out on top against Jos Buttler and his men.
The winner will put themselves in pole position to qualify for the semi-finals, the loser will have their backs to the wall with only two more games available to correct things.

Captain marvel Smith to shine
Steve Smith has taken on the leadership duties in the absence of Pat Cummins, who is nursing an ankle problem.
He has been in stunning form with the bat in Test Cricket of late. In fact, in all cricket, including at the Big Bash, he has scored five hundreds in his last 12 innings dating back to early December.
bet365 are offering 13/8 on Smith, who is likely to bat at number four, to score a fifty in this opener.
Joe Root is my tip to top-score for England, and he has been boosted to 7/2 by Betano to achieve this.
He is the outstanding batter in that team, and his ability to play in sub-continent conditions is second to none. He proved that in the Test series in Pakistan at the start of the winter.
