Chelsea Women v Real Madrid Women Match Preview
It has been a pretty straightforward start to life without Emma Hayes for Chelsea, winning their opening two WSL matches to set themselves up nicely for a big European night.
It is Spanish giants Real Madrid up first, who themselves have made a perfect start to their own domestic campaign with five wins out of five.
It is a strange quirk that these tw o sides have faced each other in each of the past two group stages of the Champions League, and Real will be hoping it is third time lucky having recorded two defeats and two draws in the previous four games.
They do have fairly recent memories of beating British opposition however, with wins over Manchester City in two ties back in 2021/22 and 2022/23, so Chelsea will have to be on their game, despite going in as favourites.
That tag is deserved, even if it remains to be seen if they are quite the same without Hayes on the touchline, but I still fancy them to get through this game with a win to nil and signal the start of a new era at Stamford Bridge. That is available at 7/4 with bet365.
Even if there are some questions to be answered, I expect Chelsea to come through the game without too many issues, so I'm looking at a score of around 2-0 in the game and that has been boosted to 17/2 by SpreadEx.
