Argentina to win
With Julian Alvarez and Nicolas Otamendi occupying key positions, Argentina have the edge in this Olympics 2024 clash. Morocco have lost seven of their last eleven games in the Olympics, making Argentina the favorites.
France to win and BTTS - No
This game factors into our daily bet builder, and in both tips we are backing a clean sheet for one side. In this case, it is France who have a very strong squad and are clearly targeting gold in this year’s event. The USA are one of the stronger sides out there. That said, I still think there is more than enough in the France side to get through this convincingly.
Egypt to win and BTTS - No
Dominican Republic are one of the weaker sides for sure at this year’s event, and they won’t have any realistic ambition of going far beyond the group stages. It is a gentle opening for Egypt, who reached the quarter-finals at Tokyo 2020 and London 2012. It is not a squad full of recognisable players, but they will still fancy themselves to beat DR comfortably.

Over 2.5 Goals
France have named a strong side for this home tournament. While this has not always worked out for host nations - think of Team GB back in 2012 - I think France will fancy their chances of getting off to a winning start and doing it in some style.
Michael Olise, Alexandre Lacazette, Desire Doue and Jean-Philippe Mateta are some of the bigger names in the squad that either head into the tournament looking to make a name for themselves and are in form, or have something of a point to prove. That’s a lot of attacking talent, and I think it will be too much for an under-strength USA side.
Both Teams to Score - No
This is the first time the USA has entered a team into the Olympics since 2008, so we don’t totally know what to expect from Marko Mitrovic’s side. Fifteen of the 18 players named in the squad have senior international experience so it’s not a totally green set of players but they are short on attacking threat and France will be looking for a comfortable win.
Jean-Philippe Mateta to Score
Mateta is one of the selected overage players in the France squad, selected by head coach Thierry Henry on the back of a superb season for Crystal Palace in which he scored 19 goals - 16 of which came in the Premier League.
As he is one of the overage players, I am sure he will start and hope to form a potent partnership with captain Lacazette. I think that could be a good partnership but Mateta could be one player who really enjoys himself over the next couple of weeks.
