Argentina to win
I expected a bit more from Argentina prior to the tournament, singling them out along with France as the two favourites to go all the way but they haven’t been entirely convincing so far. They beat Egypt 3-1 to bounce back from an opening defeat, but were only 2-1 ahead with five minutes to go so the scoreline could be seen as flattering. Nevertheless, I think they will beat Ukraine to advance.
France to win -2
France weren’t quite as convincing in their second game, beating Guinea 1-0, but there remains the sense they had plenty left in the tank. There is a concern that they could rotate the squad a fair bit for this game, but even so I would expect them to put a few goals past a New Zealand side who were battered by the USA.
USA to win -2
Despite their poor record at the Olympics, I expected the USA to deliver against New Zealand and they delivered, hammering them 4-1. They have a useful squad at their disposal and while Guinea held their own against hosts France and won’t be brushed aside easily, I think the USA have the stronger side and found confidence last time out.

Over 3.5 goals
France’s statement opening win over the USA was followed by a more sedate victory over Guinea, but New Zealand on the other hand were handed a heavy beating by the USA. The host country are through to the next round but will want to maintain their form, and even if they do choose to rotate some players I would expect a pretty big win.
Both teams to score - No
It’s two clean sheets out of two for France, and I see no reason for that to change. New Zealand are unlikely to cause too many problems for the French backline, even if they need to force a result to be sure of their place in the next round. There is a chance they qualify as the best third-placed side so goal difference could be a factor.
France to win
With players such as Alexandre Lacazette, Michael Olise and Desire Doue among others, France are going to be favourites for pretty much any game they play. I think this is as close to a banker as you can get, so much so that it doesn’t add much value to our bet builder but we’re including it anyway!
