Eagles v Commanders Tips: Thursday Night Football Predictions & Betting Offers

Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season kicks off with Thursday Night Football at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. A major NFC East clash awaits as the 7-3 Washington Commanders face the 7-2 Philadelphia Eagles for the first time this season, and we’ve put together our Eagles v Commanders tips in the form of a bet builder.
Leading UK betting sites list the Eagles as 3.5-point favourites at home, with the total set at 48.5 points. Philadelphia is targeting its sixth consecutive win, while Washington looks to recover from a narrow 28-27 home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, which ended the Commanders’ three-game winning streak.

A.J. Brown Anytime Touchdown Scorer
In four career games against Washington, A.J. Brown has scored five touchdowns. Last season, Brown dominated the Commanders. In a 38-31 away victory, he made eight receptions for 130 yards and two touchdowns, while in a 34-31 home win, he caught nine passes for 175 yards and another two scores.
The Commanders allow just 182.2 passing yards per game this season (5th in the NFL). However, of the 27 offensive touchdowns they’ve conceded so far, 17 have been through the air. Last week, they allowed Russell Wilson to throw three touchdown passes to different players, including wide receivers George Pickens and Mike Williams.
This season, Brown has 28 receptions for 553 yards and three touchdowns across six games. Although he scored in three consecutive games, he hasn’t reached the end zone in his last three outings. The three-time Pro Bowler is likely to return to form sooner rather than later.
In last week’s 34-6 win over the Dallas Cowboys, Brown caught five of his seven targets for 109 yards. With fellow receiver DeVonta Smith struggling with a hamstring injury, Brown will need to step up in this challenging matchup against the Commanders.
Saquon Barkley Over 89.5 Rushing Yards
After recording at least 108 rushing yards in three consecutive games, Saquon Barkley posted 14 carries for 66 yards in the comfortable victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Barkley played only 35 snaps as the Eagles took the opportunity to rest their star running back.
Barkley is expected to return to his usual workload when the Commanders visit. Philadelphia will face a tougher challenge than they did against the Cowboys and will aim to capitalise on the weaknesses in Washington’s run defence.
The Commanders allow 142.7 rushing yards per game (28th in the NFL) and 4.9 yards per carry (29th). Last week, they conceded 140 rushing yards to the Steelers, and two weeks prior, the New York Giants put up 164 rushing yards against Washington.
When a team like the Giants rushes for 164 yards, it’s a clear sign of defensive issues. With one of the best offensive lines in the league, the Eagles should give the Commanders a tough time, and Saquon Barkley is set for a standout performance.
Jalen Hurts Anytime Touchdown Scorer
We’ll conclude our Eagles v Commanders tips with Philadelphia’s quarterback. Jalen Hurts has already rushed for ten touchdowns this season, and facing Washington presents a great chance for Hurts to add to that tally.
The Commanders' red-zone defence has been poor, ranking 30th in the NFL, with opponents scoring a touchdown on 21 of 30 red-zone trips.
Hurts has been unstoppable recently, scoring rushing touchdowns in four consecutive games, amassing eight in that span. Last week, he ran seven times for 56 yards and two touchdowns.
