All eyes will be on the Allianz Arena on Friday night as home nation Germany host Scotland in the first game of Euro 2024.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side head into the tournament following a mixed build-up, but still with a weight of expectation on them while Scotland could prove to be a tricky opponent after a decent qualifying campaign and with a robust squad developing under Steve Clarke.

We’ve looked at some of the best football betting offers, odds and markets from our range of football betting sites to provide you with Germany vs Scotland betting tips.

Germany v Scotland Match Preview

Eyes On Germany

Even though the club season finished less than a fortnight ago, the focus now quickly pivots to international football and with Germany ready to host European football’s biggest party over the next few weeks, they have handed out invites to 23 other nations.

One of those 23 nations is Scotland and with the two teams getting tournament proceedings underway in a few hours, both outfits will look to open their accounts in a bid to reach the Round of 16 and beyond.

With the tournament format allowing four of the third-place group stage finishers into the knockout phase of the competition, there is not the same level of jeopardy early on as there was in Qatar World Cup two years ago.

A scenario that means four points out of nine will almost guarantee your progress, even three gives you a considerable chance of not being sent home at the first and earliest opportunity – a scenario that Scotland know all too well and one that went against them at Euro 2020.

Bottom of their four team group three years ago, Steve Clarke’s men will now look to go at least one better and if the tournament was staged last summer, you would have to consider the Tartan Army as a genuine dark horse.

However, the wave of euphoria surrounding the Scotland camp has dissipated in recent weeks and the flat feeling has come around due to a combination of performance and injury to one of their key personnel.

Victory over Gibraltar may have been recorded but it was a laborious one at that and after going two-nil up against Finland just days later, Scotland then conspired to throw away that advantage and labour to a 2-2 draw.

A pair of performances that came after Lyndon Dykes was stretched off during a training session and as a consequence, the QPR forward is now ruled out of the tournament. As a consequence, Scotland look like they are struggling for goals.

Not a struggle that their opponents have been facing in the build up to the tournament’s opening night and with the likes of Kai Havertz and Florian Wirtz in fine form at the end of the club season, their task is to turn it on for their nation on Friday night.

But now it is time for the first of my two tips and although Scotland do have a lack of firepower up top, there are still goals lurking within their ranks – more on that in a moment. Therefore, I am going to back a Germany win but at the cost of a clean sheet at odds of 9/4 with bet365.

In addition to this, I am going to go focus on the potential for a Scottish goal and with Scott McTominay seemingly saving his best for international duty, the Manchester United midfielder looks a smart price to net anytime at odds of 15/2.
