England are on the back foot after a horrid batting performance in the opener, and Graham Hardcastle has provided some cricket betting tips ahead of the second India v England T20.
England can hardly be any worse with the bat than they were in game one en-route to being bowled out for 132 but there is still time to recover and you can follow our latest cricket tips plus the top cricket betting offers from the best betting sites.

India v England Preview
England’s white ball inconsistencies were on show on Wednesday during the opening game in Kolkata when they were swamped by an on-song Indian bowling display and lost by seven wickets.
A flurry of wickets fell to poor shots, and it made life easy for India’s batters.
Only Jos Buttler with the bat - he made 68 off 44 balls - and Jofra Archer with two wickets came out of the game with any credit. It was such a disappointing way to start the year having ended 2024 by beating the West Indies in the Caribbean in November.
However, I’m not going to abandon hope just yet in this series. But when it comes to the result, I think it’s wise to take a watching brief in game two and look elsewhere for some value.
Having sided with England to win the series before a ball is bowled, we have interest on the result anyway.
Firstly, I’ve compiled a three-fold bet365 bet builder, which is 11/8 for spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Adil Rashid to strike at least once apiece with the ball and for Sanju Samson to score at least 10 runs.
Chak attack
I also like bet365’s 9/4 on England leg-spinner Adil Rashid to strike twice in this match at a venue which has been known to suit spin.
Rashid struck once in game one and has taken at least one wicket in each of the last nine T20Is in which he has bowled.
Betfair’s #OddsOnThat selection, which is 5/2 on the team batting first to make 170 or more and the team batting second to chase the target, is of interest.
This isn’t the highest scoring venue in India by any stretch of the imagination, but totals of that type are not irregular. And five of the last seven T20s there - all in last year’s IPL - have been won by the chasing team.
India spinner Varun Chakravarthy should be under serious consideration to be his country’s top bowler in the match, available at 3/1 with StarSports.
He claimed that tag in the series opener with 3-23 from his four overs, and is in quite the run of form at present at both domestic and international level.
In his last four matches for India (one T20I) and Tamil Nadu (three 50-over matches), dating back to January 3, he has taken 5-9, 3-14, 5-52 and 3-23.
He has also taken 15 wickets in his last five T20Is dating back to November of last year.
And finally in this T20I betting tips preview, William Hill’s 9/2 - #YourOdds - on Phil Salt to score over 19 runs and for Rashid to take over one wicket is something I would be siding with.
