If you are a devout fan of the Premier League, then you know how this story starts. Manchester City have the odd slip in autumn but then start to get their act together during the festive break and from there, they leave all their title rivals in the dust.
A three-act play that has taken place countless times over the past few years and if the past few weeks are anything to go by, it looks as if Pep Guardiola and his players have just started this season’s opening act.

They say the table does not lie, but there has to be an element of fib surrounding Spurs’ current standing. When they are hot, they have the ability to blow teams away with ease. When they are not, a house of cards comes crashing down around them.
Their last six league games have seen victory followed by defeat and if the pattern was to continue this weekend, it would see them get the better of Manchester City. At the same time, the hosts have to return to winning ways at some point and that point could mean all three at the weekend.
But now it is time for the first of my two tips and because City are currently swimming in unchartered waters, the news that Guardiola is set to sign a new contract will steady the shipwreck. A home win and over 4.5 goals can be built at odds of 13/5 with Coral.
In addition to this, Erling Haaland has been a little too quiet for City recently but with him fully back in the scoring groove during the international break he could easily damage Spurs’ defence. Damage that comes with a treble of goals (or more) at odds of 12/1 with Betfred.
