Newport v Port Vale Betting Tips, Predictions & Latest Odds

With the international break taking place, many of the best betting sites are putting an extra focus on League One and League Two this weekend.
It’s no change for us though, as regular pundit and EFL expert Gab Sutton is back with his look at the biggest games of the weekend.
Newport v Port Vale Preview
Newport lost 3-2 at Cheltenham on the opening day of the season, but came away from that match more encouraged than they went in.
Save for a mad 10-minute spell in the first half, they shaded the contest and deserved at least a point from Whaddon Road, prompting optimism that they’ll defy their doubters, who questioned the appointment of rookie coach Nelson Jardim.
Sure enough, County won three league games in succession: 3-1 against Doncaster, 3-1 again over Accrington Stanley, and 1-0 at Morecambe.
The Exiles rode their luck in Lancashire, relying on some brave defending and fine goalkeeping from Nick Townsend after employing conservatism to protect their lead.
The football they played with the game goalless, however, can be a real source of encouragement, as they played through a decent opposition press thanks to the bravery of Bryn Morris, and goalscorer Aaron Wildig, in midfield.
Newport also boast the pace, strength and trickery of Bobby Kamwa, who has looked a real threat out wide since making the move from Burton, albeit coming into the weekend off the back of his quietest game yet.
Visitors Port Vale, however, haven’t had the start they wanted, with Darren Moore’s side taking just four points from as many games after a busy summer.
