Josh Rock to beat Chris Dobey
Despite dropping just two legs in his second round win over Rhys Griffin, Josh Rock’s 87.13 average won’t frighten Chris Dobey.
But saying that, Dobey hasn’t had the most sparkling of 2024/25 seasons on the oche.
He has been dumped out early in a majority of TV majors and was made to work hard by Dutch qualifier Alexander Merkx.
The bookies are finding this one hard to split, but backing Rock at the slightly better price is where the value lies.
Michael van Gerwen vs Brendan Dolan – Over 5.5 Sets
Michael van Gerwen is becoming more and more susceptible to upsets the longer his incredible career goes on.
MVG has lost to the likes of Scott Williams and Dave Chisnall in recent World Championship outings, so it would be naive to suggest he will steam roll Brendan Dolan.
The Dutchman is 2-2 with Dolan in recent head-to-heads including a 10-7 loss in last year’s Matchplay; Saturday night’s clash is expected to be just as tight as we look at the over sets market.
6/4 with Paddy Power says that this one finishes 4-2 or 4-3 either way, and feels like the value bet of the day.
Luke Littler to have 3+ Bull Finishes vs Ian White
It feels like there needs to be something pretty big and special to stop Luke Littler’s charge this year.
The teenager averaged 101 in what felt like third gear against Ryan Meikle and has plenty left in the tank against the experienced Ian White.
The “Diamond” is a part of the furniture in Alexandra Palace this being his 13th season at the Worlds, but he has probably found his ceiling aged 54 and will act as a punch bag for the relentless Littler.
Littler loves a bull finish and over a minimum of 12 legs, we’re fancying three from the “Nuke”.
