Preston v Leeds Match Preview
Leeds are undoubtedly one of the best sides in the Championship, but there are certainly questions to be answered over their form away from home.
If they are to seriously challenge for the title and establish themselves in the top two and return to the Premier League, they need to improve on a run that has seen them win just one of their last five away games and lose two of the last three.
There is no doubt that at Elland Road they are formidable and they probably have the strongest squad in the division, but Farke must find a way of marrying that up with performing on the road in order to help them pull away from the chasing pack.
Similarly miserable performances at Millwall and Blackburn have resulted in 1-0 defeats and Preston would appear to be a similar challenge, so it will be interesting to see how Farke approaches the game.
One school of thought would be to rely on the industry and pace of Mateo Joseph up front on the road in order to stretch home defences, rather than the pure finishing skills of Joel Piroe and that be instructive when it comes to our betting tips, but Joseph has been out of form recently.
I wouldn't be expecting any great things from a Preston side who have won three in 10 at home so far this season and have three draws on the bounce - though they did win at Cardiff on Wednesday - so Leeds should still fancy getting a win.
It's a tough one to call. I am tempted to back a draw but with Leeds' strength and midweek form they really should have enough to win this one, but it should be a little more difficult than at home so an away win with BTTS comes in at 3/1 with bet365.
Daniel James is likely to be Leeds' main attacking outlet. He has been in great form recently and while two goals in four matches is nothing out of the ordinary, he has plenty of assists too and is a key player for Leeds.
I'm backing him to be on target after his fine strike on Tuesday and for the game to be level at half-time before Leeds end up winning at full-time. That is available at 20/1 with Unibet.
