Cooper Kupp Over 68.5 Receiving Yards
After missing four consecutive games with a high ankle sprain, Cooper Kupp is set to return to the Rams' starting lineup. I expect the former All-Pro receiver to make an immediate impact.
In Week 1 against the Detroit Lions, Kupp recorded 14 receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown. He followed that with four catches for 37 yards in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals before being sidelined by injury. As Matthew Stafford’s favourite target, Kupp is likely to see plenty of action this Thursday.
While the Vikings are strong against the run, ranking second in the NFL for rushing yards allowed (80.0 per game), they struggle against the pass, giving up 260.3 passing yards per game—the third-most in the league. This sets Kupp up for a strong performance in front of the home crowd.
Cooper Kupp Anytime Touchdown Scorer
The Rams ensured Cooper Kupp had ample time to recover. Although he was ready to play against the Las Vegas Raiders last week, the team opted to give him an additional week of rest to ensure he’d be fully prepared for the Vikings game.
Minnesota has conceded 13 touchdowns this season, with 10 of those coming through the air. With Puka Nacua still sidelined due to a sprained PCL, Matthew Stafford is likely to target Kupp frequently.
There are rumours that Kupp could be traded before the deadline on November 5th, and a strong performance against the Vikings would certainly boost his value. That’s another reason why I’m backing Cooper Kupp to find the end zone in this matchup.
Justin Jefferson Anytime Touchdown Scorer
The Rams have also allowed 10 receiving touchdowns, and their defence has struggled, giving up 25.7 points per game (27th in the NFL). Their secondary faces a tough challenge in slowing down Justin Jefferson.
Jefferson leads the Vikings in targets (51), receptions (33), receiving yards (531), and touchdowns (5), scoring in all but one of his six games this season.
Last week, in a 31-29 loss to the Detroit Lions, Jefferson recorded 81 yards and a touchdown on seven catches. I’m expecting another strong performance from Jefferson when the Vikings take on the Rams in Thursday Night Football.
