Jordan Love Over 32.5 Passing Attempts
The Vikings boast one of the strongest run defenses in the NFL, conceding just 87.1 rushing yards per game (2nd in the league) and 4.0 yards per carry (3rd). Last week, Minnesota secured their eighth consecutive victory, defeating Seattle 27-24, while restricting the Seahawks to a mere 59 rushing yards.
The Packers will likely need to lean heavily on their passing game, especially if the Vikings establish an early lead. In the Week 4 home loss to Minnesota, Green Bay fell behind 28-0 and managed just 19 carries for 86 yards by the end of the game.
Jordan Love had an astonishing 54 passing attempts in that clash, completing 32 for 389 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions. While Love may not reach 54 attempts again, he should comfortably surpass 35 against Minnesota’s defense.
The Vikings concede 248.7 passing yards per game (30th) on 38.3 passing attempts (31st). They’ve allowed at least 37 passing attempts and 252 passing yards in four of their last five games.
Love has been solid this season, completing 242 of 383 passes for 3,135 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 13 games. Although he hasn’t attempted more than 28 passes in his last six outings due to Green Bay’s reliance on their rushing game and defense, that approach is likely to shift against the Vikings.
Justin Jefferson Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Justin Jefferson is arguably the top wide receiver in the AFC. Across 15 games this season, the one-time All-Pro has racked up an impressive 134 targets, 92 receptions, 1,387 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns.
Jefferson has been unstoppable over the past three weeks, recording 24 catches for 349 yards and five touchdowns. After finding the end zone twice in a 42-21 win against the Atlanta Falcons and scoring once in a 30-12 triumph over the Chicago Bears, Jefferson posted 10 receptions for 144 yards and two touchdowns against the Seahawks last week.
The Vikings will continue to rely heavily on their star wideout when the Packers visit. Green Bay concedes 19.1 points per game (6th), 102.5 rushing yards (8th), and 209.7 passing yards (9th). The Packers have surrendered 31 offensive touchdowns this season, with 19 through the air.
When Minnesota edged out Green Bay in Week 4, Jefferson recorded six receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown. Across eight career games against the Packers, Jefferson has scored five touchdowns, more than against any other NFL team. Thus, we’ll conclude our Vikings v Packers tips by backing Justin Jefferson to score a touchdown.
