Wolves v Nottingham Forest Match Preview
Wolves face a stiff test to herald their start to the new year when they host Nottingham Forest on Monday evening at Molineux.
Hovering just above the relegation zone, Wolves have enjoyed a dream start under Vitor Pereira, picking up seven points from a maximum of nine in his first three games in charge.
That included comfortable wins over Leicester and Manchester United, and they also nabbed a draw against Tottenham.
Forest, on the other hand, are safely ensconced in the top four, and a win would put them level on points with Arsenal.
The weekend saw one frenetic Midlands Derby in the form of Aston Villa vs Leicester but perhaps Wolves vs Nottingham Forest could be equally entertaining.
I’ve supplied some Wolves v Nottingham Forest predictions along with a couple of betting tips to whet your appetite.
Wolves to pick up another valuable point
We’re just over halfway through the season, but for the teams at the wrong end of the table, every point is invaluable.
Under Pereira, Wolves have more of an identity, but they have conceded 42 times, with only Leicester and Southampton (both 44) shipping more.
Forest, on the other hand, have been on fire, reeling off five wins on the trot in the league.
They have only leaked three goals during that period, but by the looks of things, they won’t be knocked off their stride.
Looking at past meetings between Wolves and Forest, the draw has been a common result, with the past four clashes ending this way.
To kick off my Wolves Nottingham Forest predictions, I’m going for a share of the points which will help Wolves’ cause, and 10bet has proffered a decent price of 9/4.
A pulsating thriller lies ahead
Some of the stats make for interesting reading from a Wolves perspective. Pereira is only the fourth man in the club’s history to go unbeaten in his first three games in the dugout, with Sammy Chung the last to do so in 1977.
That said, they are just the second team to score at least 30 goals and concede at least 40 at the halfway stage of a Premier League campaign.
Forest though are flying and they are in the top four at the turn of the year for the first time since 1987-88 when a certain Brian Clough was in charge.
Nuno Santo’s side, meanwhile, have come racing out of the traps, scoring the opening goal in a league-high 15 matches this term.
I’ve gone for a draw for my first pick, and while 1-1 has been a popular scoreline between these two sides, I’m deviating from the Correct Score prediction.
Instead, I’m going for the BTTS in both halves which offers more value. Well, William Hill has tagged a 14/1 price which could be worth tapping into.
